A mixed experience possibly because it was a late evening booking on a hot day. Some dishes excellent - especially the pork belly. Some less so - burrata seemed tired. One inattentive surly male waiter but other serving staff were great including those delivering from the kitchen. Worth a visit as it is a good venue and they are trying to do good things with food.

This is our second visit to the Plough. It's a beautifully restored and decorated traditional style pub, but still very modern and stylish at the same time.We stayed overnight because we had tickets for the open air theatre. It's a walkable distance (about 35mins).Our room was quite small, but very well equipped and well laid out, with everything we needed, so it wasn't really a problem. I have seen some of the other rooms when we last stayed as there were a few of us and some of the rooms are a better size. The restaurant serves beautiful food and on our previous visit the chef was very accommodating to those who had special dietary requirements. Very good wines and cocktails available.Scalby is a beautiful village, on our last stay we stayed in one of the cottages owned by the plough and had lunch at the Yew tree (all part of the same group) we picked this destination for its walking routes around the area.I would definitely recommend their cottages for families with young children who wanted a peaceful seeside break.I will definitely visit again, especially if we get tickets for the open air theatre.

Booked a table online for dinner here as we were staying in Scarborough. What a fabulous place, Great choice on menu for all of us. The food was superb our compliments to the chef. Good choice of beers the waiter offered my husband tasters so he could decide between two. The staff were brilliant and very attentive even ordered us a taxi home. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Delicious food and a good selection on the menu. Comfortable rooms with many comfortable touches. Friendly staff and plenty of them. Lovely area for an explore of the village . Very clean and we were looked after very well. The village appears to be friendly, people saying hello when we passed.

Superb pub. Superb food with excellent choice. Great local beer. First class staff. We shall go back in a few days. Well worth a try. If eating, best to book first.

Amazing time here! The food was incredible and the service just matched this. We stayed one night and the rooms were perfect and no noise at all ! Can't wait to go back.

We stayed here with friends for 2 nights, in one of the houses rented out across the street. Exceeded our expectations, the place was beautifully decorated, with comfortable beds, great shower, everything was outstanding.Had dinner at the pub one evening which was lovely food, friendly service, just across the street! Easy drive from Scalby to popular towns, with parking at the back of the property.

Extremely relaxing stay at the plough. Very friendly staff with good information about local walks and places if interest. Good choice of drinks in the bar and the food Awesome. The only down side could be on street parking as it's in the middle of the village dating back before cars were thought of.Great little find and on the list to stay again.Cheers to all the staff.

We ate at the Plough in Scalby last night. It’s a lovely pub and the food was delicious! I would highly recommend the pork belly! The staff were very polite considering how busy it was. Good selection of beers on tap as well. We will definitely be revisiting next time we are in Scarborough!

Traditional pub, food good. Only complaint was, we were slightly early for our meal booking. Got a drink sat down,. mentioned to bar staff we were hear. Think they forgot about us as I had to remind them. They were very busy, sat us at a table in the bar area rather than in the eating area. Booked for Easter, hopefully will get a better table.
