Rather dry fish and chips. Didn’t live up to the inflated reputation of the place. Very pricy compared to other restaurants in Whitby. Service efficient considering a busy time. Tartar sauce is no substitute for peas and bread and butter.

Fabulous fish and chips on the Whitby front. The fish is cooked fresh and to perfection, flaky cod accompanied with crunchy chips. Service is efficiently friendly, you’re seated, served and stuffed with delicious food within the blink of an eye. It’s often busy so worth getting there at the beginning or ends of lunch service to avoid queuing.

Why people still continue to eat fish and chips is beyond me… it is by far the WORST British dish ever invented, unless you like artery-hardening meals, then have at it! Now that I’ve had it at the best fish and chips restaurant in the Whitby, a seaside town nonetheless, and 15 quid poorer, I’m over this horrid novelty. Forever.I’d recommend trying literally *anything else* on the menu BUT the deep fried fish with a side of deep fried chips. A culinary disaster in my humble opinion…. Enough.Now to find some flavour-laden Indian food….Cheers!

One of the many Fish & Chip shops in Whitby. We only ate take away from Trenchers. The fish tasted great and chips were good too. You have to order from the little takeaway area to the left of the main entrance. You have to wait outside for your food to be cooked, normally about five to ten minutes. The food is always hot and of good quality and consistency. The staff are helpful and friendly. The salt, vinegar, forks and napkins are all in the bag with the food. Not too busy in January. Prices are about the average for Whitby. Wheelchair access is okay too. Well done 👍

Absolutely lovely restaurant the lady we have serving us was so friendly and welcoming and stood talking to us for about 10mins.The restaurant has a wide range of meals on the menu and are freshly made.The puddings are homemade and taste divine perfect if you have a sweet tooth you will be spolit for chose.The staff on entering the restaurant were friendly and welcoming.Prime location right next to the marina.Will definatly return here and would recommend to all my friends and family if there are visiting whitby

Was told about the daily queues as this is a popular restaurant in Whitby. We had a 10 minute wait as we went for lunch. This restaurant has a lovely atmosphere when you walk in. It’s bright, welcoming and smells lovely. Our food was delicious and the apple and blackberry crumble is perfection! The toilets are really stylish so make sure you take a look when you visit 🤩

Nostalgic return trip here after 40+ years. Attended to by our lovely waitress Lucy. Fish and chips were awesome, melt in the mouth batter. Raspberry crumble very yummy indeed. All food served promptly.
