Bella Italia Sheffield in Sheffield

Unfortunately a disappointing experience at Bella Italia. My friends and I arrived exactly on time for our booking, but our table was not ready for us for another 10 minutes. When our table was presented to us, it clearly had not been wiped down thoroughly (there were still crumbs and sauce from the previous diners), and no cutlery was provided.Service in general was slow, getting menus, drinks, food, and the bill took far longer than they should have!Two of my friends meals were significantly sub-standard, and another of my friends requested a meal without meat, but when his meal arrived there were visible chunks of meat present. Getting him a substitute meal took a long time, so by the time he started eating his meal, the rest of us had finished our main courses.We were given a significant discount at the end due to the poor experience, but it would have been preferable to have been given good service, good food, and to pay the full bill!

I loved the ambience, the decor seems so warm, cozy and welcoming. Where as the food, we ordered beef lasagna and oxtail pasta. The flavour seems to a bit blend as the oxtail pasta seems to lack a depth of flavour. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

Food was fantastic I enjoyed my main lasagne so much couldn't eat it all as had to make room for the delicious pudding was yummy drinks were not to bad either Bombay Sapphire 6.49 for a double with lemonade nice surprise Birthday for a friend

I love Bella Italia I've been to a lot of them over the years and I've never written them a bad review, but unfortunately I'm going to have to for the Sheffield one.It was a first visit to this one, in a great location next to the Peace Gardens. We went for lunch, it was very quiet I'd say maybe 5 tables full at 1 when we got there which surprised me because they're always pretty busy at that time.Our server Charlie, who turned out literally to be the only member of staff showed us to our seats. He was absolutely brilliant, couldn't have been more helpful and friendly took our orders and then dashed off to serve the other tables. He was front of house, taking orders, doing drinks, bringing the food out, taken payments. There was literally nothing he wasn't doing and pretty much all on his own.The food when it came was smaller portions then, usual and even though they tasted lovely, there just wasn't enough and it was lukewarm.We noticed straight away there was no music playing, never been to one that doesn't have it playing, there was just no atmosphere. The place itself was cold, seemed like no heating on at all an most of the other customers had their jumpers and coats and scarfs still on.Really disappointed with the visit so don't think we'll be going back.

Brilliant night for my 19th birthday, Conrad was a brilliant server. Would definitely recommend. The food was beautiful especially the spaghetti bolognese

It's our usual go-to restaurant in the city centre for an early evening meal. The set menu has enough choice and is good value for money. Today there was a good, cosy atmosphere and we were served by two people but mostly Harry. He was cheerful and friendly, not just towards us but also other people. He was efficient and didn't overlook anything you needed.

This place looks very stylish and cozy and the waiters were very helpful but, some of the food we ordered wasn't as flavourful as we thought. When the dishes came out, they looked delicious, especially the mozzarella garlic flatbread! It would've been nice to get more gnocchi scamorza than 4 pieces but the food we ordered was already fulfilling so it was enough.

Came for dinner with my partner and had the bottomless pizza. Pizzas were cooked to perfection and full of flavour. The atmosphere is very relaxed and inviting. Our server D'Arcy was very helpful, polite and always had a smile on her face. A really enjoyable night out. We will be returning.

A very nice place although I don't think I would return. The atmosphere is great and the decor is great, but the dishes were bland. I have to highlight the friendliness of the waiters. They were super attentive and smiling.

Soooo slow.We visited on a Tuesday around 6pm and there were only about another 3 tables occupied. Given menus then left for 10 minutes before anyone came to ask if we were ready to order. Ordered starters, mains and drinks. Starters came quickly but the time between these finishing and the main courses dragged again. Made worse by the two glasses of wine we ordered being left on the bar until I made a point of asking where they were. It then took them a while to bring them over. Staff seemed completely uninterested their jobs, manager seemed disconnected and uncaring.With a chain like this, service is everything. The food is never going to amaze, so be attentive and go the extra mile to impress - we, like many others will merely vote with our feet.
