Blue Moon Cafe in Sheffield

I had some absolutely delicious food (the potato pie), which came with equally delicious salads. I took it away, but in the 5 or so minutes I waited for it to be prepared I enjoyed the very welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.The staff were very friendly and helpful, it was all reasonably priced and there was even a student discount.Very positive experience, and I will be coming back to try out the rest of the menu! Thank you!

Went here for lunch on a rainy day. Took the food away as I live pretty close. Really reasonably priced for the quantity and quality of the food, even before the 10% student discount. Absolutely delicious. Would eat there again and recommend for anyone 😄

We very much enjoyed the hommity pie (served with a creative and tasty chopped salad medley). Service and ambience are much improved from recent times under Covid restrictions (takeaway only) - let's be patient while our much loved independents make their way back.Very pleasant seating area inside, the Blue Moon is located in the scenic area by Sheffield cathedral.

Cute place with a lovely variety of wholesome veggie/vegan options. Couldn't choose for ages! Eventually went for the Jamaican Patty and added the famous salads which were so flavourful. Also been recommended the sweet potato fries so had to get them too. The dipping sauce was so herby and garlicky I loved it! Pumpkin spice oat coffee was good too but was slightly cold when it arrived. Ceilings in the building are amazing - a hidden gem from the outside you wouldn't know is there other than Google Maps photos. Will visit again!

Sadly, not a patch on what the Blue Moon used to be and judging by the rather cold atmosphere and scarcity of customers I'm not the only one to think so. No longer do you queue at the counter to be tempted by an attractive array of tasty-looking hot and cold dishes - it's table service, and you're ordering 'blind' off the menu. The food was nothing special which was disappointing but somehow not unexpected. On the positive side, the service was friendly and efficient and the coffee a redeeming feature. One to miss.

As a gluten free vegan it was great to have a choice of different options. Both the aubergine dish and the tempura mushrooms were devine. Great mix of interesting salads. 10/10 would recommend!

Sat upstairs as suggested by staff as tables were all occupied downstairs, but it took ages for them to come to serve. They apologised but we had wanted to place our order on the way up which seemed like it should have been quicker and easier for everyone. No menu on the table, so we couldnt even have our order ready.Very polite other than that though, the food was amazing as always, and I love that it's always healthy although not necessarily low calorie.The buying is listed and beautiful, always a lovely atmosphere too. Its nice that it's a bit more peaceful, you hear floorboards not some annoying radio music

This place is fully vegetarian, very reasonably priced, with some good options for vegans too. The chocolate cake tasted amazing, highly recommended! We had a great experience, 4 stars only because the place could be elevated with some cozier seating, professionally printed/designed menus, or by having a rotating selection of cakes.

Delicious, reasonably priced vegetarian and vegan food served in a relaxed casual setting has been the Blue Moon's reliable service to Sheffielders for many years. We've been regular customers for ages.But during lockdown 3, unable to offer in-house dinning, they've turned up trumps for their loyal customers by offering fantastic part-cooked, themed two-course meal kits, delivered to finish off at home each Friday and Saturday.Themes have included Mexican, Korean, Chinese and more. Finishing at home has always been easy (just a bit of reheating, mixing stirring and plating up) with clear instructions and portions always generous.We've had half a dozen deliveries now and each one has been absolutely fabulous and a real treat to eat. Highly recommended!
