Bobo Express in Sheffield

My favourite place when I come to Sheffield. Great variety and prices are reasonable.

I had a rice clay pot, it would've been cheaper and nicer to get one from a shop and do it myself. I expected the rice to get crispy because of the heat of the bowl but when it's black and so crunchy it is a struggle to chew I call it burnt. The "chicken" was pink and looked raw which instantly put me off my meal. They openly said they pre buy it and just heat it up from frozen. Buy it yourself and save the money, wasn't worth £10 I've had better experience at McDonald's.

Absolutely brilliant. Came to Sheffield for a food crawl today with friends.I have tried one claypot rice from this restaurant when they was in taste orient.Having raved to my friends about it we came here as of last meal.It was quiet when we came and was kinda shocked.Anyway we went ahead and placed or orders.Food came out and the staff added soya sauce to our clay pot which sizzledWe all got our phones out to take pictures and the staff laughed and joined with us.Everyone enjoyed the food here and we was trying to think where in Leeds or Manchester had a claypot rice place...No where.I'll keep this review sorry and sweet... Delicious meals made with great thoughts. My favourite is spare ribs with rice and chicken soup. GREAT flavour with healthy eating.

Terribly rude, I was humiliated (and left hungry).I'm a wheelchair user, and am not British - so I'm constantly on the hunt for good food in my new city. If i find a place with authentic or even just delicious food, I'm a loyal customer and big tipper. Sadly I've not been able to eat at 98% of restaurants I want to. And I'm really tired of the excuses which hold no weight at all. But worst of all is when I'm given a BS excuse as to why the restaurant isn't #accessible, while being mocked, abused, or made fun of.I've been after authentic Cantonese food and heard good things about bobo. Was told they were accessible yet when I got there, there were steps into the restaurant. But they had an 'accessible' automatic door opener with the wheelchair symbol, so i assumed they had a ramp. They ignored me as long as they could til a customer came to talk to me outside. He got a female employee who told me they didn't have a portable ramp. I asked why the wheelchair symbol was there and she said, very sarcastically and condescendingly, "well, I didn't design the building", laughed and walked away.I don't care who designed the building, but why can't they spend £30 just once to have a ramp? I was humiliated, as I so often am when I try to go out for a meal.

Lovely place. Welcoming staff. Mild dishes are mild, hot dishes are HOT!!! Affordable prices and very warm atmosphere.

One of the best clay pot rice in town. The price is pretty decent for the quality of the food. I would like to visit there again if I am in Sheffield. The service is pretty help yourself.

Simple, quick Chinese food, mainly clay pot rice/noodles/congee at £6 - £11. Great for a quick meal with no hassle.

Great find in Sheffield city centre! Service was friendly and efficient, and price was value for money. The claypot style rice was delicious, the rice itself was very well cooked and the salted fish pork belly that I had with it was succulent. The chilli oil condiment on the side is really good, spicy but addictive. The highlight for me was the variety of soups they have, which are double-boiled, bringing out the flavour of the ingredients. You can tell it's cooked properly, as the pork ribs in the soup I had was so pink and tender it came off the bone. I have not had these flavours of home in awhile and really enjoyed it. Drinks also pretty cheap at 1.50 for a hot drink, made properly not canned or packet. I had the honey red date tea. Would definitely return again each time I am in Sheffield, especially for the soup. They also have cantonese style porridge/congee which I look forward to trying.
