Booked a table for breakfast but had to wait a good 10 mins for someone to attend us but soon was obvious there wasn’t enough staff on.Again a long wait at the bar to get the children drinks as there was only one on.The bar.The lady in charge with a white shirt on was sarcastically rude when mentioned they seem to be struggling.Won’t be going again simply because how rude she was. Also slow at replacing fresh hot foodQuite await for empty scrambled egg dish to be replaced .. not good enough!!!Staff enjoyed taking to each other it seemed rather than attend to customers.

We came for a meal and some drinks after a trip to meadowhall.Poor cleanliness and Poor service. We had literally just ordered our food and we was approached by a member of staff to move seats as they needed to reserve the table. When we said we had sat here for us to be able to watch the kids in the indoor play area we was met with a very rude response of well you only have a table for 2 hours so I suggest you move to another table as the reservation would be imminently arriving. We was moved to a table next to the windows which had a awful breeze and very cold.We was in the bar for about an hour and food that had been on the floor upon our arrival had not been cleaned up.Would not recommend on the service and cleanliness

We were here yesterday for a party and meal, approximately 24 adults. I really enjoyed it and the staff were great. A little hiccup on the onion ring side order (not crispy) but that wasn't enough to spoil the meal which was lovely. Thank you :)

Booked a table for 11 people, but we were sat on two different table, which was disappointing as it was for my elderly mum birthday, who was looking forward to sitting with all her family and grand children together. When I enquired nothing was said about this issue. We had no other complaints, we all had breakfast which was delicious. We probably would have stayed longer, for drinks and cake if we were sat together.

Food is nice, can get really really busy and crowded a lot of the time, carvery is great enough selection to choose from.Great place for families and kids because of play area....If you don't like busy try to go midweek later on I'd say.

We came today. Valentines day 2022.2 adults and a child. Upon arrival we was taken to a table that had NO space for a pram as we requested on the booking and the pub was empty to be seated on top of 2 other families with no pram space so not socially distanced.Food was quick to arrive which was fair but the bacon was burnt on my meal and the chicken tasted like rubber. My partner has a carvery which he said was decent so that was the upside.Another upside was the under 5s children's play area in an enclosed area with only 1 entrance and exit so that was good as was easy to see if my child left the play department. However the peppa pig car ride was not plugged in for some reason which I don't understand if its there for children to play on

We haven't been for a long time, but were not disappointed, the meals were lovely & hot & the service was excellent. Will be going again & would recommend it to any one. Thank you Elmwood.

We went here when it first opened and the quality was ok. We used to go in just for the cake away as well but the quality of that seemed to drop. Seemed like cheaper ingredients. We went in again today to dine in. The guy that took my order was fantastic and really helpful but the food was a let down. Even I struggled to finish and that’s saying something.

Well where do I start, had a table booked, walked in, no one to take us to the table, had to wait for member of staff to walk past.Ordered a mixture of carvery and meals, meals came, had to shout a member of staff to ask them if we need a ticket to get the carvery, she said "you can just go and get it, just show them what you've ordered on your phone", would have been nice to have been told that when we were shown to our table.Ordered deserts, but when they came because the plates hadn't been cleared my son was holding his on the edge of the table, and I was pasted mine with "just hold that"! .The chocolate sponge did not look like chocolate sponge, and when the member of staff was asked what it was he said "I don't know I was just told to bring it out"!The brownie wasn't a brownie, more like a piece of cake. The staff were more interested in talking to each other than clearing tables and making sure customers were happy, if I'm honest, after not finishing the deserts the whole evening was a let down and ended with us joking about the poor service.Won't be putting ourselves through that again.

First the good things. We have been a few times and the food is always good. Carvery is better than others in the area with a great choice of veg and always cooked brilliantly. They always have a choice of ales so another good point. The staff always come across as friendly as well. I use the app to order and this has always gone well also. Now the negative. The last couple of times we have been we have ordered food and drinks. You end up getting your food delivered before the drinks. I'm not talking about carvery - stuff off the menu that is cooked to order. How can you cook a meal quicker than pouring and delivering 4 glasses of pop???I know they are going to read this and use the C word as an excuse but I don't buy it. It almost feels like they are picking what restrictions work for them rather than the customer. You still can't get your own veg but the staff aren't wearing masks?? You can't wait for your drink at the bar but there's no social distancing at tables??I hope they get their act together soon because we have booked Christmas Dinner based on how tasty the food is.
