Proud Potato in Sheffield

THE BEST spud I’ve ever eaten , loads of filling , cooked perfectly , really nice lad served me called oscar , definitely would recommend

Normally excellent but not sure for some reason the toppings was very stingy this lunchtime. Normally more generous servings, will give the benefit of the doubt this time as normal lady not serving today so maybe just a one off ?

Ordered 4 potatoes, one of which on opening was completely inedible, burnt all over and the inside of the potato was brown mush, it smelt burnt. How you could cut into that potato see what it’s like and still serve it is disgusting. Two of the other potatoes had inedible skin, well overcooked. I tried phoning at least 10 times and no one answered, took the potato and the burnt skins back to the shop at 7.45pm and it was closed even though you state you are open until 9pm.

Always have garlic butter and cheese always never disappointed, the lad on the till was lovely

3 x large potatoes for our family tea yesterday, really hit the spot (I read the reviews saying they are not big enough, we went large and very happy/filling meal).

After reading the previous 1* reviews I thought I was about to make a huge mistake suggesting Proud Potato as a quick tea but am pleased to say they are very misleading. I bought 3 large spuds, two cheese and chilli and one tuna mayo and cheese, all the spuds were large and cooked to perfection, fluffy moist potato inside and crispy well cooked skins on the outside. There was ample filling in all 3 and no complaints from my family. Will definitely go back again. Worth the £5

I have been coming to the Proud Potato for years and always been very happy. The portion sizes have now decreased massively. I have been disappointed!New staff should be more generous with potato size and portions sizes if they want to keep custom.ThanksMandy

The potatoes are very small. undercooked potatoes and fillings are very minimal. And customer service is shocking you would expect more fillings bigger potato for the price they charge

5 quid for a big dry potato with 2 desert spoonfuls of chilli and cheese and no salad. Proper rubbish sorry. Was reet looking forward to it an all.

We just had 2 potatoes for tea & very disappointed yet again that after 3rd time in last couple of months I feel I need to leave a review. We have always been pleased with potatoes from here, lovely big hot & ample toppings but unfortunately this has gone down hill. The last 3 times have been small shrivelled hard & burnt skins with very little topping. I gave it the benefit of doubt to try again thinking it was a 1 off but no yet again another hard shrivelled potato. Decided to try again & disappointed yet again even the carton it came in was smaller, small hard cold shrivelled burnt potato & a small blob of topping sorry to say that's my last potato such a shame
