Sportsman Inn in Sheffield

Booked a particular table for lunch 10 days previous but when we arrived the chosen table was not available no apology. Bar service was very slow. Meals were very good and reasonable price.

Excellent pub, perfect for calling in after a walk in the Peaks. Good selection of beers, open fires and dog friendly. The food is great too. We had some chicken wings with hot sauce and sharing nachos... Both were fantastic, the wings were some of the best I've ever had. The bar staff are lovely to top it off. Highly recommended!

Called in last weekend for the first time in years and really impressed with the place. Staff accommodating and a nice atmosphere especially as a brass band was playing Christmas songs which was a nice addition. I would definitely travel again and spend more time in future, I actually cannot wait to call again!

Super professional staff attending to my gluten free needs and quickly alerting me about the issues with genuine concern. Beautiful cosy decor with few fire places plus lovely menu. I am sure I will be back and will brings my friends with me.

Waited nearly an hour for food even though the pub was empty on a Saturday lunchtime. Checked online about booking beforehand and it stated was fully booked but pop in to get an available table.No apology, and no atmosphere.

Was my local for 3 years till I moved out of the area. Visited tonight and thought their 2 steaks for £16 offer was worth a punt.But all was not as it seemed.The two 8oz steaks for £16 offer was at best clever and at the worst cynical for the 2 steaks were on one plate for one person!It cost my wife and I £32 plus my daughter's meal plus drinks. Nearly £50!!Admittedly, the food was good and of course you get LOADS!!But ultimately I feel I've been taken for a fool.See my photo. How would you read that offer?

Great pub with a wonderful atmosphere welcoming and friendly staff. Clean and tidy and lots of space and well laid out. Food was good even though it was a little slow coming but was busy. Will be back thank you.

Booked in (table for 3) for 13.30 Sunday Lunch - staff really friendly and helpful, but my roast beef was disappointingly tasteless, my wife had chicken & ribs and didn't really rate it - my daughter had Gammon ( no issues ). It wasn't bad, the people were nice, but it just wasn't great.

I loved this pub, it has a very welcoming feeling to it, and there is a nice fireplace in the middle of the room. Bar staff are very friendly, and the food was very tasty. All in all a top notch experience and located in a nice area of Sheffield, I will definitely come back.

Lovely building and furniture, but half the taps were off when we visited so zero craft beers or IPA, just 5 big name lagers available which was disappointing. Had a full meal, starters main and dessert the food was OK, but not great. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the lack of a decent beer spoiled the visit.
