Lovely decor and ambience. Terrible service and food not amazing. We only had one drink whilst there as no one came to see if we were ok and if we needed anything so missing a trick on making more money for the company. The service was slow and we had to ask how long our food was going to be as we had waited a long time. I visited a few weeks before at lunchtime on a Monday and the service was the same then. I gave the benefit of the doubt and came again but exactly the same service so would not recommend. The vegetarian selection was pretty poor with only mushroom or margarita so I ended up ordering the Korean chicken pizza because I wanted the goats cheese and asked for it without chicken but was still charged full price for chicken!!!! After eating no one came to take our plates away and we had to go find someone to bring us the bill. No one came to take payment so we had to go to the bar to pay when leaving. Could have easily walked out without paying. Absolutely terrible on every level and won’t return which is sad as it is a nice location, great parking and good ambience. Thanks

We stayed in the suite. Beautiful room, staff very pleasant and helpful. Try the pizza, have their own pizza oven. Continental breakfast was excellent quality. Close to city Hall where we watched a concert.

Here for a two night stay and the staff make this place! They are friendly kind and helpful. The room is lovely and cosy but needs maintenance. I suspect it doesn’t help that there is no ventilation but the shower is the best I have ever had and the coffee is excellent. I would suggest that slippers and earplugs are provided. The location is good too and ample parking. All in all I would recommend. Booked again for March.

Booked in for Christmas Dinner.Starters were OK, mains arrived an hour later, barely tepid with dry turkey and undercooked sprouts like bullets. Yorkshire, stuffing and other vegetables ok but had been out for a while.Had to ask for enough gravy, cranberry sauce etc. Sweets were almost inedible and most were left. Service extremely slow though the few staff did their best. Basically overpriced and under delivered, below average pub food , certainly not restaurant quality. Not one member of staff wore a mask!

Rather smart conversion of a large mansion. Bright and airy with a mainly open planned layout. Had a shock by the absence of hand pumps on the bar; they are located on the back wall. Two from the Marston range. Ringwood and Brakespere. Two empty pumps so maybe a wider range is usually available.

I went to the Florentine for lunch with my mother, and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was delicious, and fresh. The waiting staff were so friendly and polite, and very efficient. The young man that served us with blond hair was lovely and so was the lady with dark hair.I had the asparagus and poached egg which was delightful, alongside a side of chargrilled veg. My mother had the vegetable salad served with Halloumi which she thoroughly enjoyed. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed, and all food being served looked very nice indeed. We sat outside which was pleasant. The interior is well spaced out, clean and also very nice.I returned at a later day to try the Sunday Lunch and I have to say, this was also wonderful!! super tasty food. The meat was so soft. It was a very nice day out!I would certainly revisit this place and recommend to others.

The pub was lovely. Staff was very friendly. The pizzas were delicious and very good value. The room was clean and fine for the night we were staying there for. The room was surprisingly quiet considering their were full on Friday Eve going on downstairs. The continental breakfast was epic and a lot more that we expected.

We had a nice stay here when we visited the Peak District and checked out some local jazz. There were a couple of niggles with the room but the staff were attentive and helpful so all good. The building is lovely and the rooms are well appointed. The pub / restaurant downstairs is pleasant and lively, and the pizzas are excellent. It's in a nice part of the town and very easy access to the Peaks so overall a great choice.

CANNOT PRAISE THE STAFF ENOUGH. We used The Florentine for a 50th Wedding Anniversary surprise party. From the beginning the staff were extremely helpful. Beth dealt with our booking, and nothing was too much trouble. On the day of the party I dealt with Jake, who again was brilliant. For the ‘do’ we chose to go for the Gold buffet option provided by The Florentine: the food was delicious; not your average sausage roll and cheese on sticks. There was way too much! We ended up take doggy bags home.Price wise I would say it was excellent value for money (the room hire was free.) and would highly recommend for any party/event.In my reviews I try to offer a balance, including negatives. However with the Florentine I can’t think of any negatives. Gold stars all round.

This is probably the first time I've ever written a negative review about a hospitality venue, however I think it outrageous to charge £8.95 for a Caesar salad and give this dish to customers with minimal salad on the plate. I suggest you give this dish a miss unless you're not hungry
