Went for lunch today as we are local and not really tried the food here …… extremely disappointed 😔 ordered sharing nachos which was a very very very small portion considering its £6.49 not many nachos and a spoon full of salsa…… I ordered the salad which said it came with bulgar wheat sultanas and chickpeas ….. none of these ingredients were in the salad …. We queried both of our concerns at the time and we were told that that was the portion size for the sharing nachos and that the single one is tiny ( the prices are £6.49 and £4.49 respectively and do not include any meat or guacamole….. a lot of money for a dozen crisps, spoon of salsa, cheese sauce and a couple of jalapeños). We were also told that in the case of the salad they did not have the ingredients ( not told that when ordering). Felt sorry for the young lady who served us ….. no one else came over, nothing offered to replace, sort or compensate ……. Extremely disappointed and will not eat here again……. Other customers just drinking (slowly)….. we were surprised it wasn’t busy when we arrived as a Sunday and not booked…….. no longer surprised

Our second stop on our New Year's Eve afternoon walk up the Porter, returning from Ringinglow, we were pleased to find Moonshine on tap and enjoyed a couple of pints.Back in the days before the industrial revolution, the Hammer and Pincers was a stop on the Sheffield to Hathersage Turnpike, providing not only a place stop and water the horses and drivers alike, but also to an opportunity to tend to wagon repairs and their horses' welfare. The Hammer and Pincers has been a highly popular pub in recent decades, but we guessed it was our mid-afternoon stop, or competition from the many new restaurants and hostelries that made this a quiet visit. We really enjoyed our the Moonshine beer and hope the pub enjoyed a really successful night on New Year's Eve.

Came here on Saturday and had a brilliant time, got served by Amy and she was an absolute legend. Really looked after my missus and me, it was our first time here but we will definitely be returning

Popular chain pub with large popular outside area. Wide choice of food at fair prices and wide choice of drinks although a bit short on real ale but to be fair it's not a real ale pub. I hadn't been here for 30 years but would certainly go again for a meal

A pub I had visited frequently many years ago, we went up for some food. Adhering to all current Covid guidelines, the QR ordering worked great and there wasn't a long wait for drinks or food. The food was great value for money and the staff were really helpful. They also have Dough Truck Pizza there every Friday which is definitely worth checking out!

Took my family here on Friday for Tea, it was exceptionally busy. We sat on the amazing decked area on a lovely table, Amy met us at the door and took us to the table, Nicole Served us amazingly from start to leaving. The food and drinks were great but the surroundings and atmosphere were brilliant. We will definitely be returning. Superb

I had a lovely meal of a pub classic steak and chips. The portions are fair in size and decent food quality. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The car parking scenario is a bit wired, give your reg at the bar! otherwise a pleasant time in nice surroundings. I will visit here again.
