Cosy atmosphere on a wet and windy day. Delicious steak and Guinness pies with pints. Very glad our four legged friend also welcome

When visiting my alcoholic student son, in Sheffield we always pop in here for our dinner, (that's a mid day meal) pie chips n gravy is the normal, always freshly cooked,Washed down with a couple of beers decent atmosphere,I've not visited at night time as I'm sent off back "over't t'hils " back home by 6pm.

The best place to eat pies and chips. I ate chicken and chorizo pie and it was perfect, a good quality dough and Greta flavour. Chips are the best that I've tried, super crunchy outside and like a mash inside. Good atmosphere and beautiful place. Just the heating was almost turned off but everything was perfect

Eating here is listed as one of the top five things you have to do in Sheffield by the University in its recruitment video. The staff are great and clearly good at working under pressure. However, while the pies are good don't fall for the hype. They are high end average at best. Also the place is kind of run down inside and it has a very "lads lads lads" clientele so if thats not your vibe be warned.

Very busy local in University land. So busy that we weren't able to sit for food ... best to book. We did however enjoy good beer served by super friendly staff.

The pies are well known for being the best in Sheffield. Chips are great and gravy is well nice. Only problem is the waiting time. We waiting around an hour and a half on a Saturday around 3.

I love the Nottingham House pub. The selection of beers is good and the pies are excellent! Great ambience and helpful staff!

Well I got told it was going to be amazing pies which is why Me and a friend went here , the pies were OK but the chicken was in massive massive chunks so I had to pull out the middle to chop down to size.... Just seemed overcooked too as the chicken was chewy.... The pub seemed lovely, clean and the staff very friendly.... Will have to try out again an hopefully next time the chicken pie will be banging.I must add the chips, pastry and gravy were all beaut and on point.

Delicious pies, great value pints. Brilliant experience all around, the chips which come with the pies were, simply put, delightful. The peas meanwhile are top quality mushy peas, full of flavour and not watery like some mushy peas you get in chip shops.And then onto the pies. Quite simply the best pie I have ever been lucky enough to eat. I had the steak, red wine and Bacon pie and would highly recommend it, although I would be keen to try the other fillings, specifically steak and stilton, but they didn't have that one available when we went. Good excuse to go back if you ask me!

Amazing pies! Best ones I have tried in England so far. Great atmosphere, excellent food, good brews selection and attentive staff. Toilets were quite clean and tidy. We needed to wait 20 minutes for a table (they don’t make any reservations) and 1h for the pies but... it was understandable as it was 1 o’clock on a Sunday. There wasn’t mash, that was quite sad but the fries were AMAZING. Gravy was quite meaty so very good accompaniment. Will definitely come back :)
