Tucked away close to the theatres opposite St Marie's Cathedral. Stopped by for a coffee on the way to a show and we were made to feel welcome by the friendly team, enjoying 20 minutes or so in this splendid little place. It's clearly popular and easy to understand why. Authentic high quality Italian food and drink. Expensive, but real quality is.

Perfectly located near to Sheffield’s Lyceum and Crucible theatres this restaurant is one we’ve visited regularly over the years. For once we’re not in a hurry to tread the boards and we can enjoy a leisurely dinner. The bar area isn’t the most attractive but it’s fine for a quick Prosecco before we sit down. Soon we’re whisked through to the much more attractive dining room, although it’s very noisy.Starters are tomato & burrata salad and calamari & arancini both very tasty. Meanwhile an excellent Nero di Troia from Puglia arrives. Mains are lasagne, orecchiette Pugliesi (a beef stew pasta) and rump of lamb - all excellent. We finish with lemon delight, a mascarpone cannoli and of course the obligatory Limoncello. All in, £70 a head isn’t cheap but quality food and good service costs and it’s money well spent.

Called here for a last minute reservation following a quick search for a highly rated restaurant in Sheffield. Staff and venue perfect but some of the food was a let down. The scallop starter and the fish main lacked depth of flavour, and was not far from what I am able to cook in my kitchen. The fillet was lovely but then again, who can’t cook a fillet? I ordered chocolate torte for desert as I needed my chocolate fix but it was not available and so we were recommended the chocolate topped cheesecake alternative. This, in my opinion, was shop bought and did not fulfil my chocolate craving. I voiced my concerns to the server but this was disregarded and brushed aside. I did get a lovely bag to take my left over wine home so I was happy with that. I think this restaurant needs to focus more on the flavour of the food, rather than focusing on selling their most expensive wines

Lovely restaurant, lovely staff, excellent food although a little pricey. But, I would definitely visit again

We had great meal at this restaurant apart from the desserts. Two of us had their version of Tiramisu which was dreadful. We complained that we thought that there should have been a strong hint of coffee in Tiramisu rather than predominately cream , only to be told that“” that’s the way my wife makes it” Another dessert was lemon tart which was lacking in any lemon flavour. When we complained about the desserts they still charged us for them but offered an obscure liquor as compensation . We would probably visit the restaurant again as the starters and main courses were delicious but we would give the desserts a miss as they were very poor.

I celebrated my graduation earlier this evening in this great restaurant. Well we passed a delightful evening and the venue was definitely one of the reasons for the successful event. The team helped in a gorgeous way, the meals were tasty and my buddies were very glad. We shall no dout come back again for more celebrations. thanks very much.

The best meal we’ve had in Sheffield, hands down! The food was excellent, service really so well synced and thoughtful, and atmosphere just lively, fun and authentic. We had the ox cheek, orecchiette, tiramisu and lemon meringue tart. The mash in the ox cheek dish I could have eaten a plate of alone. Everything was well seasoned, no need for additional salt or pepper - just perfection!

By far the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to.Staff were extremely friendly, food was mind blowing. I don't even know where to beginFor starters, I had the I had the Chicken Liver, Caramelised Onion with a Balsamic Reduction. The liver was absolutely exquisite and literally melted in my mouth and the Caramelised onion completed the dish really well. For the mains, I had the Rump of Lamb, with Asparagus & Pureed Aubergine. The lamb was unbelievably soft and left me in a state of not only bliss but utter confusion as to how they made it taste so good.I'm usually not a big fan of Tiramisu, but I have to hand it to the chefs at VeroGusto, they did an amazing job.Extremely please and happy with the food, though the portion sizes were small, I will have to say. Its not always about quantity, its about quality; and this restaurant wins my vote for the most amazing Italian food I've had in Sheffield.Looking forward to dining there again.
