Nice pub and nicely decorated for Christmas. Menu looked decent and good value although we didn't eat. Only downside was no cask ales at all even though it is advertised extensively outside and apparently they haven't had any for a couple of months.

No draft beers on sale. Asked about having Lions rugby on, but a customer had control of the remote watching some rubbish and then Lacrosse. They left but no staff interest in offering rugby! Local pub to me but will need some encouragement to go again soon.

Sadly the beer here was atrocious. It was a hot day but the beer wasn't cellar temperature (10-13°C), it was room temperature and sour. Categorically the worst beer that I had during my 2 weeks in the Peak District. I have had the very same ale in York and it was delicious. I hope this was a one off. Sorry guys.

Good food, good prices! They have special Summer sundaes! For a limited time, you can get 1 of 4 options. The one photographed is 'chocolate brownie and salted caramel'! Yum :)

Nipped in for first time in at least 26 years. Really pleasant pub! The lady who served me was great: chatty, friendly and warm.As a drinker of 34 years, I cannot stress how nice it is when staff are like this!The extra star is for her.Good beer, food looks good and cheap and the pub felt warm and clean.
