Yama Sushi in Sheffield

Our favourite sushi restaurant in Sheffield and has been for the last 12 years, we now live a 35 min drive away but still visit. Staff are always so lovely and service is always fast.

Small restaurant with filling food and friendly service; reasonably priced

Really disappointed. Came in and was told that they only take cash and not card. Then I was made to order online and pay extra. The miso was warm at best. Ordered unagi Don but the unagi could fit in my palm. Food was alright but very poor customer service. Lots of talking inside the kitchen. 2 stars cos the food was alright.

The staff was really nice, but unfortunately the food was not great. They had very few vegan/veggie options because they use the same frying space for meat and vegetables, and the food I could eat was very bland. It didn't taste like Japanese food.

It's a nice little restaurant with friendly staff. The food is really good and there's a lot of it! I struggled to finish some of it on my own. But it tastes like what I would eat in Japan.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this was honestly the most welcoming and tasty Japanese restaurant I’ve ever been too, the service was friendly and welcoming and the food was all delicious. The waiter was also very lovey, thank you for the experience

Cute spot on a bustling London Road - It felt incredibly Japanese, small, quiet (no music) but very attentive host. Portions are generous and the menu is vast, we tried sushi rolls we've never had before and it was a lovely evening! We ordered 5 starters, 1 main dish and 4 rolls between 7, worked out just over £10 per head so great value for money. Would recommend if you fancy a no fuss Japanese restaurant.

Very small venue with only 5 tables but enough space between and the atmosphere was nice. Incredibly fresh and tasty food which arrived within a decent time frame from ordering. There were a few things which could have made it from 4 stars to 5 stars: took quite a long time to order the food after being seated, couldn't pay by card machine (after waiting a very long time after receiving the bill to be told this, nor does it say anywhere that you can't). Also we asked for black sesame ice cream for dessert and only found out that they didn't have any when our bill arrived, sans ice cream (wasn't included on the bill total which prompted us to question as to why it wasn't) and were informed then that they didn't have any in the premises. Fantastic food but service lacking at times.

Fabulously outstanding food , have eaten at many Japanese restaurants and this is by far my favourite Lovely tentative staff, warm cosy ambience with a great menu Not expensive, would happily pay more this quality of food

Fantastic food! Great service, nice drinks. Highly recommended for any first timers and veterans! They have a great selection on the menu and a variety to please most audiences.Only problem I have now is deciding what to go for as there is too much I want to try!
