Ancient Borough Arms in Wakefield

This is my local I feel welcome and all the staff are friendly and helpful.

We went in about 6 weeks ago with friends from work on a Saturday night, We had a really good night with great music on.We returned last weekend & they have replaced the DJ for some reason with a old fella who was loud, clearly drunk and trying to be funny with crude comments !!! he looked a bit of a has-been from the 70's...Not our thing so we left after one drink and won't be back !!! Why put on entertainment to offend people ???

Haven't been in here for years 10+, and still terrible, this is just my opinion they must be doing something right as its still open and really busy.

Excellent night out,karaoke & usually busy..Fantastic atmosphere loads of fun with great BUNCH of people & lovely staff..

Nice cheap pint of John's on a sat afternoon, what more do you want

A no frills pub,a beer drinkers pub cheap beer again gets full on weekend nights but good on Saturday afternoon

Always quiet when I've been in but that's usually through the early afternoon, friendly staff. Only reason I've deducted 2 stars is because my Stella tasted like Potato Peelings and my Coors tasted like Satsumas. If I'm leaving a pint there must be something wrong.

Great atmosphere, good selection of beers and spirits with more than reasonable prices. Bar staff are great too easy to have a laugh with.
