Beverley Arms in Wakefield

Passed it loads and thought the 'conservatory' area looked nice.....wrong, we were on the corner and it did feel we were sat in the car park. Some of the groups food was OK, some seemed expensive for what it was. No jug of water given, no clean cutlery if you had a starter. The place is well served for the village it is in, if you're from nearby though I'd give it a miss because of the cost. Nice because of who we were with but not a place we would hurry back to.

It was okay but could be better.The service was good, attentive waiter.We had a table just outside of the toilets, which felt a bit like we were in a corridor for the loos. I think that they should move this table.The food looked good, good looking kebabs but the food itself was a bit dry and could have been better.

Attended a birthday meal here. Ordered meal choices in advance. Initially thought the prices were quite expensive but the meals were exceptional and definitely worth the cost. The Moroccan Lamb was authentic and looked as good as it tasted. There were a few in our party and we all had something different, but all the meals arrived at the same time and all looked very appetising.There's a good busy atmosphere here and the staff are polite and attentive.

Great for a special occasion. We ate late but were allowed to finish at our own speed and were well looked after. The food is good and well prepared and the service is excellent.

The time I came here a while back, the food and prices were good, but it was let down for, shall we say, grubby. A vastly improved layout and cleanliness since my last visit pre COVID. Still great affordable food and would heartily recommend a visit. I'll be coming again.

Been to this restaurant many times, service form the staff is absolutely brilliant they can't do enough for you! And the food is allways on point evey time would highly recommend.

On arrival, stood waiting 5 minutes at Reception for someone to take us to our booked table. Finally was seated & was reeled off around 40% of the menu that wasn't available!! My food was good, but compromised with missing items. It was so disappointing as it was a special birthday meal for my partner who was very disappointed with her meal. My son had been previously & had enjoyed his visit & had a 20% discount voucher.....which we were told you couldn't use at Christmas...it was the 5th January. In my opinion that not the holiday period. Also was disappointed that none of the staff wore a face covering, every other restaurant/bar I'd been to over the previous few days all wore them ..just courteous in my opinion.. but I know that's my opinion. Unfortunately for my first visit, first impressions were not good & my partner has already said she wouldn't go back...which is a shame.

Went here for meal with 2 friends last week, we all had the 3 course meal and it was great! The food was beautiful, price was really competitive and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Will definitely be returning again. Thanks :)

My wife and I went here for our anniversary on Sunday. We were after a carvery / sunday roast and were helpfully warned that these do run out by the time we had booked often (6pm). They then did make the effort to call us when this happened in case this impacted our decision to attend (it didn't), which was appreciated. We arrived to find attentive service as well as delicious and timely food (even when we made a small alteration to a dish). When Ego first took over we were put off by the price but upon returning this seems to have been lowered and is now definitely value for money. We will absolutely return.
