Bistro 42 in Wakefield

Had a lovely evening with work friends. The food was beautiful, and we must say Luke was brilliant. Very polite, jolly young man. Will definitely be back.

Brought my family for my birthday, was a great atmosphere with equally as amazing food, the staff where all incredibly friendly offering great recommendations, will be returning at the weekend for the bottomless brunch 👍!!

14 of us went last night to celebrate a birthday. Lovely food, excellent service with a smile from Abby. Warm, relaxed atmosphere. When the birthday cake was brought out, not only did the manager allow us to eat it, he even offered us cream and plates. We were all very impressed with every aspect of our extremely enjoyable dining experience and will most definitely return.

Went for Saturday lunch with friends. Service was brilliant and the bar menu food even better. Cannot wait to go back and try a few more dishes.

Ordered Sunday lunch to be delivered to Ossett and we were both extremely impressed by it. Paid more to 'go large' with more meats and vegetables, and it was still very reasonably priced.Great quality food (both the meat and the vegetarian options) and extremely filling. It was presented very well in the box that it arrived in, and you also received separate Tubs of gravy and sauces.Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Great staff, great food, lovely atmosphere. Needless to say, one of our favourite places to visit. Vegan food gets better each time we visit. A massive plus for us.

Nipped in at teatime between appointments as it was largely empty, it filled up as time passed. Didn't have too much time so opted for "fast food", long wait for basic food. Server apologised when serving and offered a free dessert to make up for it but just ran out of of time. Order slightly wrong, server offer to take it back but couldn't risk sending it back in case it took another long time, just removed what I couldn't eat. Nice burger though. Offered more drinks when eating then left to it. Sat for ages and then couldnt wait for anyone to return to our table to offer anything else, or the bill, so paid at the till. Didn't tell them upfront that there was a timescale, we doubled the clientele when we arrived so didn't think there'd be a time issue on service, didn't expect to wait that long and be there over an hour for one simple course. Other errors I took up with staff at the time. First visit but will think twice about going again. Flashy look, enthusiastic young team, more focus needed.

What a wonderful place to eat. The food is fantastic and never disapoints. Attended with two friends and sat outside at the back, which is magical. The service is so friendly. We will be back soon to try other delights on the mouth watering menu.

Love this place - great cocktails and selection of beer wine and spirits - lovely friendly staff always willing to make your visit great. Fantastic selection of food with generous portions and reasonable prices. Got to shout out to Luke who is always amazing whenever we visit and never stops -but all the staff who work here will ensure your visit is enjoyable and you will want to return - again and again.

Great cocktails and love the new seating area outside to rear. Excellent.
