Bluebell Inn in Wakefield

Bar busy, service good dispute this. Overall food good although the steak was more medium raw rather than medium rare. Sizzler could have been a bit warmer.

It was too crowded and all the tables are very close together. You basically have to try talk over the conversation next to you and behind you to be able to hear your companion.The food is amazing, can recommend the chicken and the pork. Only issue is when someone orders a prawn sizzler (and many people did) they bring it out actually sizzling, then stand there holding it until it isn't spitting as much. The problem with this is it smells absolutely revolting, like burnt food. It filled the whole place with smoke and steamed up all the windows every time and unfortunately all my clothes and my hair smelt of the smoke! For that reason me and my partner said we would never go back despite how good the food is. Staff weren't very attentive either and seemed to bypass us as much as possible so it took ages to get a drink and the check.

We were a bit late getting onto our table but I think this was due to the previous diners taking their (very sweet) time in finishing up! Great choice of dishes, something for everyone & a good choice of specials too. The food was delicious, everyone in our party of 10 enjoyed what they had. Beautiful building with traditional interior & friendly & helpful staff. Thanks for my birthday meal X ♥️

We were a table of 10 which was booked for 7.30 Unfortunately the restaurant was very busy and we were not seated unto 8.00 which we had to stand at the bar until the table was vacated by the previous customers which was something of a struggle as four of the people were in their 70'sAfter the wait I must say that all the meals were extremely good and we all had an enjoyable night. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great home cooked food feel here. Nice old building with a cosy feel. Great food. Try the steak and ale pie it's a huge portion, the fish is a large fish. All dishes that passed out table were great size. The puddings are also excellent

Food was exceptional. Got this Dirty burger where both burgers were cooked to perfection. The chef deserved a star for that masterpieceService was the only letdown in regards to drinks. Selection of cider was very scarce and i asked for a pint of what ever cider they have. Instead i got an Ale which for me is disgusting.

Three of us went to Blue Bell for a birthday celebration. We all had different meals and all were delicious,. No faults found. Lovely pub with great ambience.

My local pub.Love the food at the bluebell, always enjoyable. Decor could do with updating - I get the concept of a old country pub - however it is just missing a little something, it sometimes feels as if you’re walking into someone’s living room. However saying this, the food is superb - it would have been 5 stars however we had a table booked for 8:45 (website option gave us this). And the waitress was rushing us to finish, the waitress was quite rude and the whole table remarked on her etiquette, she seemed to be one of the more experienced members of staff too.

My partner and I came for a meal tonight and we were very disappointed. The service was shocking. After twenty minutes, my partner approached the bar to get us a drink because no one had been to ask us. The waitress then said she would come and take our drinks order. We then watched as 2 tables that were seated after us were asked what they would like to eat and were served before us. I might have understood if the restaurant was busy but it wasn't.
