Only go occasionally but for a dog friendly pub and walk friendly people whether you are or aren't one you will find the most friendly staff, people and dogs in Yorkshire.

Very traditional pub steeped in history. Great bar meals and a more refined restaurant upstairs. Excellent food and well kept hand pulled Ale. All very reasonably priced.

Attentive staff, beef steak and Stilton pie really nice, also the fish n chips looked yummy as well. Went to say a farewell to our brother Chris, who frequented this pub a few years ago. Good real ales etc etc

Wonderful pub right next to Osset brewery. Best beer in Yorkshire. We arrived just after food stopped but they put an order in anyway. Very kind staff. Food good and cheap too. Combine with a brewery trip or river and canal walk. Ask directions to the brewery.

I live up road from this pub and after a afternoon walk decided to call in for a pint. I spoke to a member of staff outside on his break to check if we just sat down and waited for someone to take our drinks order, he said this was the case but very kindly said he would go in and get someone to come out and take our order. After waiting quite a while for someone to come to my table two lads walked into the beer garden and were approached within 30 seconds for their order. I know things are difficult with the covid rules on staff and you have to be patient, however it’s not right when someone walks in off the street and gets served straight away while you have been waiting patiently.So decided to leave, won’t be returning again as there are plenty of other good pubs in Ossett to get a drink.
