Double Dragon Cantonese in Wakefield

I’ve been using this establishment for 20+ years and never been disappointed. Others Chinese/Cantonese come and go and I have to try them but eventually return to double dragon.The management and cooking changed from parents to children in last few years and I am please to say the quality is still as good

I have given Double Dragon three stars, if this was two years ago when Sue and her husband were running the show its would have been 5 stars all day long. The quality has slide as has the portion sizes. This comes from someone who placed an order twice a month as it being only 5 doors away.

Love the food from here! It's by far the best Chinese takeaway around. We are never disappointed and the staff are so lovely

First time we've tried here. Everything was delicious. I would definitely recommend. This is out of our area but would definitely return.

Wouldn’t even give it 1 star absolutely inedible disgrace of Chinese food. Never come across anything like it. The chicken is dry doesn’t even look done it looks like it’s been reheated the barbecue spare ribs are appalling Iv fed my dog better food. The sauce isn’t even barbecue just looks like grease but red would defiantly not recommend this Chinese AROMA is by far the pinnacle. Disgraceful wants shutting down!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s has 2 star and doesn’t state it either they should be legally obliged to state the rating!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would not recommend

Very Good, has been taken over by the previous owners niece this year and is still a busy establishment. The food is beautiful.

I've been a customer for over 30 years, it's the best food I've every had, even better than food in Hong Kong, the top Vietnamese food is only better IMO

“WORST CHINESE TAKEAWAY EVER VISITED.”As my regular chinese was closed tonight I decided to look on trip advisor for an alternative and after discovering Double dragon cantonese was the third best chinese reveiwed on trip advisor in castleford I thought id give it a go. Upon calling I was told they no longer deliver so i placed an order to collect which didn't bother me in the slightest. The wontons were very dark in colour and very greasy, I would take a guess the oil used is old and hasnt been replaced. The salt and pepper chicken and chips had no salt what so ever and sprinkled black pepper not chilli peppers as 99% of restaurants use and they also had lots of spring onions which i thought was strange as they did resemble chopped chilli peppers but they were not. These we're edible but not enjoyable and again tasted of old chip pan oil. Finally the duck in orange sauce looked okay at first so i grabbed a piece and wolfed it down not realising something was seriously wrong with this dish. Without going into gory details i was sick and either the duck or the sauce had gone off! I was completely mortified and rang them straight away. When returning for the refund i took the lid off the duck dish and asked the owner to smell it which she did and agreed it was off, but claimed it was the orange sauce but i think it was the duck.I have eaten many of chinese dishes across the uk when working away and this tops the worst ever takeaway I have had and it's debatable if this chinese should even be allowed to serve food as clearly health and safety hadn't been followed.Lived in castleford all my life so not a snob but i plead with you not to visit this place unless you want to get ill.Highlight of this rating was getting a no quibble refund!

Utterly vile. This is by far the worst Chinese food... No wait... The worst food altogether I have eaten in a long time.I made the mistake of not looking at the food hygiene rating before ordering... Which is a 2 by the way, so who knows, maybe I was eating bits of rats and cockroaches.I suspect I will be frequenting the little boys room on multiple occasions over the next few days. If you decide to visit here then all I can say is good luck!
