Not sure why there is three different Grinds in Wakefield but at least you have variety. For a coffee this place is ok but that's the problem it is very average and doesn't really have anything that stand out other than the fancy milkshake. Don't get me wrong the bueno milkshake is delicious and a favorite of mine however that's all that this place does that is good. The coffee is very generic nothing fancy and quite bland to be honest. The sandwiches are overpriced as they usually are in cafes and the service is much the same very average not fast not slow and not unpleasant just ok.

Today was a special day for us as we had just registered our newborn and decided to head to the Grind Coffee Lounge for a coffee and a sandwich. My wife placed our order, and we sat down with our coffees, brownie, scone and waited for our bacon and sausage and tuna melt sandwich to arrive in the next few minutes.Thirty-five minutes had gone past and still no sandwiches. I went up and asked the lady who had taken the order when would we get our food. She rudely shot back, your wife never made an order, and I never took an order for £20 today. Her customer service was despicable and unprofessional. She made us feel like we were fabricating the whole thing up. She was condescending and adamant that we were wrong and that she couldn't help us. I guess she must have realised that she had made a mistake, she offered to give us £7 for the sandwiches and then made a sarcastic comment that it would have to come out of her pocket. This lady Represents your Cafe and Brand. It's Appalling and disappointing.Sadly, you lost a customer today.I have added screenshots from my bank account as per the charge of £20.91 from the Grind Coffee Lounge today 7 January 2022.

Nice location near the entrance to the ridings. Good decor and nice atmosphere. Prices are good too for tea

Been to this place a couple of times in the last few weeks - every time something is missing.Ham Salad Sandwich, served as a ham salad in a box!Missing sausage out of a bacon and sausage sandwich!Ham cheese onions on brown with mayo - no cheese! The ladies front of house are very nice and seem to be very capable of serving the correct coffees/cakes etc. Unfortunately it seems kitchen staff are not capable or maybe under staffed.

The woman behind the till is lovely, however they need to hire a new chef, highly Incompetent. The first time we went, my partners jacket potato came out frozen in the middle, leaving me eating my breakfast on my own until another one was ready, the second time we went, my beans were stone cold, I took a bite and had to spit them straight out and my fried eggs weren't runny at all, they were very overdone, again, had to wait for another plate of food, leaving my partner eating on her own. Also there seems to be some back chat and excuses from the chef when you can hear the lovely lady behind the till asking her to re-do the food.

Went today. There was only 3 in from of me and timed it and it taken 20 mins to get served. When we sat down the tables were 2 close together. And when they were coming to clean them they wasn't even spraying them with disinfectant. So breading grownd for covid there. 😩😩😩

This cafe really is poor. The staff are about as enthusiastic as a poodle being forced to swim outdoors. They appear to care more about socialising with each other than serving their customers. The food is reasonable, though; if rather overpriced.I really wouldn't recommend. Wakefield has far superior options.

I've been to the other grind locations and had no issues, always had friendly staff, today was the first time in the one in the Ridings near peacocks. I think this is my favourite one, it is kind of dark but very cosy and relaxing, the chairs are also very comfortable, everything was clean and tidy. They have good selection of Twinnings tea (reasonably priced) and Yorkshire tea so I am happy as sometimes coffee shops neglect the tea selection, also did not scald my tea so another win there as again, lots of coffee shops do.

Long queue of elderly people waiting for their orders, some had to sit down then come back when their orders were ready. Apparently the table service stopped some time ago but prices haven't gone down to compensate. The staff, although not rude, we're unprofessional and quite off hand and unhelpfully to the elderly customers who, in most cases, clearly showed their discomfort at having to wait for the slow service. To top it all, my large American was tasteless, it was as though only half the amount of coffee was used. If this is the norm there are far better and less expensive cafes in Wakefield and indeed in The Ridings. I won't be coming here again. 05 Sep 17.
