Pizza Express in Wakefield

Pizza was full of delicious flavour. The service was amazing. To be honest they need to change their name reason being their name sounds like a fast food take away joint

Excellent food and relaxed atmosphere. Great for kids and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Good to see vegan options too.

Been here before and it's been great. Today, we were left in a queue for 20 minutes with loads of free tables available.After this, we were pointed to our table whilst the waiters cleared tables. We were not approached even for drinks for a further 20 minutes so we left. A few more staff wouldn't have hurt and you would have received our custom

Once we got the restaurant we were seated by staff, got all settled with a 1 year and and 3 year old, bags down, good to go, only to be told we couldn’t sit there as the high chair was blocking the route, this is were they sat us with the high chair. No apology, just we needed to move, awesome start.Dough balls came, had to be sent back because they were under cooked,. Kids pizzas came, had hardly any chicken on them, compared to the ones from Xscape pizza express anyway.The manager was wandering around the whole time, quite obviously not interested in been there. The table to my left was full of dirty plates etc from the people that left just as we got there. It was left for about 40 minutes. The manager walked past it constantly, then walked up to another dirty table, kicked the chair under the table and walked away from that one too, but had plenty of time to stand and chat about nonsense.Her attitude obviously rubbed off on rest of staff as their attitude was the same. One of the guys doing the cooking looked like he would rather be chewing wasps than be at work. Him and our server were talking far too loudly complaining about Pizza Express and breaks. I could hear all of it.The only saving grace of the whole dire place was Jason the waiter. He was amazing with all the customers. Ironically he is one of the best waiters I’ve seen in a long time. He was awesome with kids, really awesome, awesome with the adults, nothing was a problem and he was quick to make sure we didn’t need anything else. That man is wasted in that Pizza Express. I genuinely think he would be a much better manager than the one on shift. Enthusiasm can be infectious, and that place could do with it.

Dined here alone about 6pm on a Tuesday. About a dozen customers in already. Polite and efficient service, bright and clean decor, relaxing music in keeping with the chain's origins. Good choice of pizza, high quality base and toppings. Quick turnaround to being served. Was offered chilli oil as condiment - delicious. This was a tasty and relaxing experience and I would recommend this restaurant above others despite its more corporate nature in recent years. This chain flourishes after all these years simply because it is brilliant at what it does, and more lives up to its name.

Pesto pasta is always great but considering I go at lunch, they have no regard people have to get back to work and spend a very long before taking orders and then taking payment. Just get your start and ending process streamlined please!

We visited on the evening of the bank holiday Monday and there was only one other family there. My partner had a card which state's we get half price in certain establishments. We checked that this was acceptable with our waitress who informed us that it was - great.We took a table and began to look through the menu and we ordered our drinks. The waitress returned with our drinks with the unfortunate news that as it is a bank holiday, the bonus card was non applicable.Now I maybe cynical but we were told this after been there for approximately ten minutes, had gotten comfortable and had our refreshing drinks presented to us. I considered leaving but it was coming to the end of a very long day and I was also quite hungry .So we ordered and the food was excellent.I won't be returning though because I do believe that we were taken advantage of to make a quick buck when in actual fact - the food was so good I would've gladly paid the full price.I'll try and update the name of the bonus card although we have used it elsewhere.

Called for a last minute bit of lunch with my 5 year old daughter today and the guy that served us bent over backwards to make sure we were happy and comfortable. He showed great interest in everything my daughter was playing with even if it was all unicorn related. He's a total credit to the place. He outshines the food which in itself wasn't bad at all.

Great place. Been a few times now and love it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. You are treated like adults who know what to do instead of the constant “is everything ok sir” “ do you want anything else sir” etc etc.Although the vegan option is only one pizza it’s still worth it and the staff are very knowledgeable about dietary requirements.
