Prego Pizzeria in Wakefield

On past experiences I would give it a 5 but both myself and my husband had pizza this time and they were soggy. We both left at least half and on this experience wouldn't order pizza again. We were asked at the beginning if they were alright but we hadn't really had time to test them! My son in law had Lasagne and my daughter had a seafood pasta and their meals were delicious!

Celebrated a birthday in Wakefield and came here on a Saturday evening for a meal. We both went for the 2 course special which includes some Italian favorites all prepared fresh and tasting delicious. Sitting down stairs is recommended as such a theatre is created with the wood burning fire with chef doing his thing right there in front of you. Staff were very knowledgeable about the food and wine and of course very friendly like the rest of the good people of Wakefield. Looking forward to coming back!

We visited Prego yesterday after visiting the Wakefield Theatre Royal to see the wonderful Beauty and the Beast panto. The restaurant is very clean, tidy with a really friendly atmosphere. The staff are lovely and ready to help. There were 8 of us in total. Some of us ordered pizza and some pasta dishes. The kids had pizza, when these turned up they were incredibly generous portions which the kids couldn’t finish and they boxed up the leftovers for us to take home. The food was beautiful. All of us, apart from the kids, cleared our plates and some of us ordered desserts ( I’d highly recommend the Tiramisu). When we asked for the bill they brought lollipops for the kids. Overall a wonderful service, great food in a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be back

Nice informal place for good quality wood fired pizzas. Good value for money. Great place to nip in after shopping or before the theatre.

We went in for a nice meal and we love the place we were greeted by friendly staff and it was really cosy and smelled amazing and we sat right next to the pizza bar and watched our food being cooked. We had a starter and a main and both meals were delicious. I have fish cakes and my hubby had pate and they were both perfectly cooked and had so much flavour. For mains I had the risotto vegetali and my hubby had the meat feast pizza the were big portions and perfectly cooked and we even took some home we were that stuffed. Would highly recommend and we will be going back soon :-)

Amazing food at great prices and with excellent portions also, lovely and friendly staff with excellent customer service, the best Sticky toffee pudding i have ever tasted (i have had many) Great italian food and drink. Highly recommend, Prego is a Hidden Gem that everyone needs to try! Thankyou so much for a fantastic experience, we will see you again soon

We ate at Prego for the first time last night and were absolutely amazed. Lovely friendly service and absolutely delicious food. It is fascinating to be able to watch the pizzas being made. Will be back when we are able to order wine by the bottle instead of the glass.

Superb meal, really can't fault anything. The Chicken Stroganoff from the specials board was fab.

Stopped by Wakefield during a short train connection (25 mins) and decided to get some dinner. We found this restaurant 3 mins away from the station. Since we had to catch the train very soon so we asked the staff if they can prepare something really quick for takeaway. The manager recommended that we should order the pizza. Saw the pizza made fresh and the food was ready in 5 min. Made it back to the next train with few mins to spare. Very pleased with the order, the friendly service, and the quality of the pizza!
