Rustico in Wakefield

This was a lovely place to eat.. Real authentic food... Take a good appetite as portions are big

Came here Saturday night for our second wedding anniversary. First time me and my wife have ever visited rusticos but we definitely weren’t disappointed. We both ordered our usual starters we get when visiting other Italians in the area and both ordered pasta dishes they were absolutely delicious and couldn’t fault any of the food. Was that full from the starter and main we couldn’t fit our sides in or even look at the pudding menu. Will definitely be back and definitely having a pudding as well.

Lovely friendly place food was excellent. Had a starter and main for only £15.95 Food was piping hot very tasty you couldn't fault a thing no frozen veg all fresh, cooked perfectly. Definitely worth a visit ☺️

We haven't been since covid appeared but it is still superb. Italian food at its best at sensible prices. Attentive but friendly not pushy staff. Mostly on ground floor but there is a first floor area. Toilets on ground floor including disabled. Straight in off North Gate. No car park but 120 yards from Borough Road which is free at evening at the moment.

One of the only restaurants in Wakefield open on a Monday evening, Had a great birthday meal and a fabulous night out good value for money. Also been on a Lunchtime when the gave my grandson his meal for free. Would recommend you try it if you've not already

4 of us Had lunch on Saturday, undoubtedly very good value, 2 had fishcakes which were a bit bland, 1 had pizza which was lovely and 1 had bacon brie and cranberry panini which was very nice. All in total was good experience or so we thought until right at end we asked for 2 separate bills, the response I got from a mature gentleman ( couldn't say if he was owner or not) "too late you should have asked earlier madam". Where was customer service.

The food is amazing, the atmosphere is friendly and attentive. I've never smiled so much after being in a restaurant. Highly recommend.

To be fair, the food was excellent, and Lesley the waitress was lovely. But there are so many other things wrong it's hard to know where to start! We booked months ago for our family Christmas Dinner. We specifically asked for a table downstairs near the toilets as we had two elderly disabled people with us. We paid the deposit and checked that they had made a note of our table request. Then we arrived on Christmas day. It was a mad house. They had clearly over booked the restaurant assuming that some people might not turn up - but they did. We were told we'd have to go upstairs. We obviously protested but it was that or go home and try and defrost our turkey. One party decided to leave as they were in the same boat. We struggled up the dim staircase past all the staff coats and bags and arrived, with difficulty, in an equally dim room. There were two round tables pushed together in an awkward corner that made us feel like we weren't sitting together. Our sitting was 1pm. By 2.45pm we had only had our first course. The good food and the lovely Leslie weren't enough to save our day. It was a lot of money to feel like an after though. It pretty much ruined our afternoon. We won't be going again.

So good! Visited for our wedding anniversary and it was beautiful! The food was so good and we got the two courses meal deal. Beautiful! Will definitely return!

As soon as we walked through the door and were greeted we felt relaxed and welcomed. The staff couldn't have been more polite and friendly, the premises were very clean and had good social distancing measures in place. The food was utterly delicious. Would definitely eat here again
