Walked in with my one year old and my heavily pregnant friend and her one year old, purchased cold drink and coffee each. When my pregnant fiend asked about a toilet she was refused and told she’s not allowed in. I’ve asked “why are we not allowed we’re customers here” short dark hair dark eyes lady said “you know how many pregnant woman ask here about the toilet” customers inside was shocked, we’re absolutely disgusted with the service. Coffee was awful, nearly burn ourselves, no human empathy, this lady has no heart, absolutely awful person. Will never come back .

Rude ownwer, if you not eat in your not customers and you can't use toilet. Even if your pregnant. Newer come back.

Decided to stop for a bite to eat on our walk in the park. So glad we did. The food was freshly cooked and tasty. The cakes were home made and extremely delicious. The service was very friendly.

Fabulous customer service, lovely cakes and tea and very covid safe. Even a little bit sausage for the dog! Really made our day!

What a beautiful little tea room within Thornes Park. Fantastic and very friendly atmosphere. Very dog friendly and our fur baby is given a sausage snack as do all doggies. We have a walk around this beautiful park finishing with a visit to our favourite tea room. Try it. You'll love it.

Went in this morning with my wife, son & daughter in law. Had to wait a short time for a table but the breakfast was well worth it. Really tasty and plenty of it. Really nice friendly staff. Will certainly visit again.

So basically right, we came when there was a dog event on and this cafe was so chaotic. We ordered a coffee, some orange juice and some soggy lemon drizzle cake and it took 20 minutes for our order to get to us. Our poor defenceless puppy just days old was wasting away... they were so slow, they had to cancel all food orders for 45 minutes until they could get their act together and function like human beings in the kitchen. They were so tight, they wouldn't even let you use the toilet unless you ordered something to eat in the cafe, even if you ordered to take out, they expected you to pee in a bush. The coffee cup was half full and the orange juice was bitter. The lemon drizzle cake was so soggy it tasted like they'd dropped it in the toilet. I think mcdonalds is better than this place and that is saying something, just read my review for there...

Tea was nice, was offered extra hot water if needed which was good, person I was with said the Bakewell Tart was nice.So why not 5 ⭐?A few reasons, one is the strictness over the toilet facilities. Now I completely understand making it customers only, but they specifically exclude people who get take out from using the facilities so if you have any thoughts of bobbing in as a pit stop during a long park walk you may want to reconsider. This prevents me from being a regular 🤷Secondly I've not found them to be super welcoming in general, now maybe it's just my bad luck as other people have said they are very welcoming. For example last visit I asked the person I was with if they wanted a cake, the girl behind the counter just frowned at him and said nothing like it was inconvenient which considering it was very quiet was unexpected

Not a place for families! My friend and I were at Thornes Park last Thursday. We were so happy for a bit of sun and wanted to give the kids some fresh air after being couped up all week because of the rain. I took boots for my two thinking it might be a bit muddy but none of us were prepared for how muddy it was on the park. But it's the park and if you are going to conduct a business on the park you should be prepared for a) noise because kids aren't programmed to sit still and not move especially at 3 years of age and b) mudAs soon as our party walked through the door everyone turned and stared like we had four heads. There were two adults and four children. Us adults weren't too muddy but the kids shoes were and the two boys had fallen in the park so had mud on their trousers (as kids do!)We proceeded to order and pay for drinks and scones and I took them all to the toilet to wash their hands. My friends eldest got told by the presumed owner of the cafe that he could not sit down on the chair. My friend wasn't too pleased by this as you can imagine especially as the chair could easily be wiped clean. He sat down as told to by his mum.As soon as we were all out of the toilet the presumed owner was straight in with a bucket to clean (I had only washed their hands in the sink)Comments that followed after from this lady such as "Where have you been?"And something about her ears hurting already were disgusting. They could not have made us feel more unwelcome if they tried. Being on a park I thought they would be family friendly but we did not find them to be at all.

How sad and disappointing, after a beautiful walk with my daughter and our dog in the park, I urgently needed the Toilet and there are no public toilet to my knowledge, the cafe in the park has a notice outside saying you cannot use their toilet unless you are a customer. I went inside and explained that I had crohns disease and urgently needed the toilet, I understood I had to buy something but please could I go to the toilet. After very loudly in front of all the customers who turned round and staff watching my humiliation she said I must sit inside and can only use the toilet if I sit inside, by this point, nearly soiling myself and close to tears I agreed, I said I would order 2 teas and pay but I needed the toilet before sitting down, at this point she agreed. After using the toilet I then had to sit in the cafe full of people I had been humiliated In front of. Thank goodness I had some money otherwise I would have soiled myself in the cafe. It's such a shame because it looks a lovely dog friendly cosy cafe that I would have used often had the been understand, I am now also scared to go to the park again
