Nice bar but massively expensive, 9.80 for 2 beers, centre of Leeds prices

First time visit last night for a drink prior to going to the Theatre Royal. We loved it! Staff very friendly and drinks well priced. Loved the singer and his choice of songs. He had a great voice. We shall definitely be returning to The Black Horse.

First time having brunch at The Black Horse! Could not fault these guys! Ellie and Sue could not be any more pleasant and lovely, we were constantly topped up with stunning cocktails and unbelievably cooked fresh food! We’ll be back again soon to see this amazing team!

Lovely place to get together. It was very full however, and finding a place to sit was hard.Everyone was having a good time.If you are going to the Wakefield Theatre, this would be a very good place for a pre Theatre drink being so close to the venue.

Visiting friend in Wakefield and went here for live music on a sunday. OMG what a brilliant night. I had never heard of the regular sunday singer Matt Hodges ? ( look up on utube ) History being that he had a internet live gig weekly during lockdown to keep people' s spirits up. Still no wiser until he began to sing " What a voice !!!!!! " The place erupted with sing along from many that were obviously fans and a few people dancing. Country and western style but he has a unique style that appeals to all age groups ( heart and soul singer ) Add in the friendly patrons, brilliant bar staff and reasonably priced drinks then this pub hits all the right spots for a great night out. Car park opposite and wheelchair access is possible however no disabled toilets seen however check this out. Did not eat there but positive feedback from customers about quality, taste and presentation of food. Ring and book first just in case if you want a evening table ? Outdoor dining with really pretty enclosed gas flame heaters for large groups or intimate meals and smoking area. This is a must visit for a great relaxed sunday night.

Just love going there, good drinks and cracking staff. We live in Sheffield and when I asked my daughter where she wanted to go for her first legal drink when she was 18 she said the Black Horse in Wakefield

Great pub with excellent beer garden. Lots of beer and drinks choices, food decent as well. Sports shown on the tv and live music on a weekend. We had a great time in this pub over the weekend; beer towers were great!
