"Aroma is a coffee shop and café in the heart of beautiful Haxby, a bustling town just a few miles to the north of York and easily reached by car, bus or bicycle. With a step-free doorway, we offer excellent disabled access. We are delighted to serve great coffee and teas from Fairtrade, with delicious cakes — many homemade by our volunteer bakers — as well as freshly prepared light lunches using locally sourced food. We are a coffee shop with a difference. Any profit made by Aroma goes to improving the service we offer to our customers and into our Aroma Community Fund, which we use to provide small grants to local community groups and projects. We look forward to welcoming you to Aroma Coffee Shop and hope you enjoy your visit!"

A lovely place to visit, me & my friend meet there nearly every week, such a relax atmosphere. Everything is freshly made. The staff are wonderful, & nearly all volunteers, which makes cafe even better.

Visit this café regularly. Friendly staff, spotlessly clean, excellent coffee and cakes. They also do delicious lunches. A great little spot.

Went at lunchtime, this was the first time I've ever been. I had the soup, which was delicious but I think a bigger portion, (I'd be willing to pay more) would have been perfect . The service was excellent. Your food is delicious. The main reason I felt I couldn't give 5 stars was the seating arrangement which could possibly be improved. I hope you don't mind my suggestions, it's an excellent cafe, run on wonderful principles.I feel you could get rid of the sofa and chairs, freeing up more space. Have more two person tables. I had to sit at a four person table, despite being on my own, as there was no other space. I was more than happy to share, but people tend not to want to.There was a party of 6 at the side of me and they were very blocked in as they took more chairs from around them to be able to sit down, this blocked the rest of us in. They dragged my shopping along with one of the chairs as they didn't notice it. No harm done, I rescued it, but it wasn't a comfortable or relaxing lunch experience. If a member of staff could meet and greet at the door and seat people this might help with the chaotic feel of the seating arrangements and make sure larger parties got space too. You are deservedly a very popular cafe.
