Barton in York

First time buying fish and chips I bought was really nice and tasty excellent value for money friendly staff will defo recommend and go there again when visit York

My friendly local fish and chip shop, always been good fish and chips and great service but they just got greedy!! £10.20 for MEDIUM fish and chips!!! What a shame, won't be going back and been going for 7 years.

Unfortunately they’re now cash only. They used to take cards. I don’t carry cash these days and only had ApplePay so I had to drive on to the one on Eastholme Drive instead.

Ordered fish and chips x2 and a sausage for my dog. When my order came it was cold and I was looking so forward to them. I payed just short of 30 pound for them. Even the peas and curry sauce was cold. So if you like hot food don't go to Bartons in york. All had to go in bin.

Never will I go here again last week paid £15.60 for large haddock and chips, small cod and curry sauce. This week they want £23.80 your having a laugh yes Bill's have gone up etc, as they have for everyone but nothing can justify a £7.20 price rise ridiculous

Great quality fish and chips etc. They do have 'meal deals' and small bites. We go there every Friday for work (Fish n chip Fridays are popular) and we've never had any complaints

Disappointed that this is cash only. It wouldn't be so bad if there was a cashpoint close by but there simply isn't. Drove to get fish and chips only to find I couldn't. So ended up going to Chips and things in Acomb.

Fish better than the chips, big portions, be hungry. Too many crispy and dry chips for my liking, prefer large and fresh soft ones, would rather have fewer of them than a bucket-load I throw away.

Lovely fish and chips. Good portion sizes and fish was cooked in a lovely crispy batter. Like the way that the fish is always wrapped separately from the chips. Friendly staff always willing to help. Highly recommended.
