Caffe Nero in York

This location is very close to where I work but was very disappointed with a lukewarm very milky very wimpy cortado that hardly wet the bottom of my cup (incidentally I bought my own cup to save on waste but didn't get the 50p off the drink that all the other chains offer!!). Mediocre service, filthy cafe and all this for £2.65, daylight robbery. Won't go there ever again.

Generally a great place to have a coffee and maybe a light bite.Used this branch many times, staff are always friendly. Sometimes a bit of a queue.Much better than the branch in Davygate.

The coffee is spot on, always has been.But the cleanliness at this coffee shop is shockingly dirty. The staff quickly wipe down the table but don’t sweep or have high cleaning standards. I found crumbs everywhere around the table I sat on, food on the floor, stains and even a web on the top floor. Yuk! How do they get away with such low cleaning standards in this pandemic beats me.Definitely not following HACCAP. 🤮No serviettes for customers, and toilets are unclean.Seriously, the manager needs to make improvements especially because it is such a busy place for food and drink.

Staff were a bit sullen and rude. No sugar , had to ask for some for my tea. I had two small packets shoved at me from behind the counter. Had to go back and ask for white sugar as if been given demerara. Felt like i was being an inconvenience. Toilet facilities very poor for such a busy place.

Visiting York for the day, started raining and wanted a decent drink of coffee. Just what I got. Was busy but managed to find a seat. Selection of cakes also served and tea if you prefer.

Not too impressed. Service and Quaility is standard as a normal Nero. However the place was not very clean. Mold and fur in the AC units

I go here most weeks and it's always good service and great for people watching. They have large foux leather sofas and armchairs at the front of the shop. If you want a plug socket they have them at the back of the store. They also have toilets with baby changing facilities.
