The Cave du Cochon never fails to deliver on great service, knowledge and wine! The staff are exceptional helpful when it comes to picking the best wine for you. With just a few steering points, you'll soon have the glass you didn't know you needed!

Wonderful wines and food. Insightful and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend and return. Lovely welcoming and comfortable vibe too.

What a great place. The staff should be very proud of themselves. Made to feel very welcome and staff eager to help navigate the amazing wine list. We called in for my wife's birthday fairly last minute. They even called ahead to advise kitchen times so we wouldnt be disappointed. The Octopussy pizza is tbest thing I eaten ten for a long time.

Wow. Feels like a wine bar in Bordeaux.Staff were amazing, they spoke to us about the wine but it wasn't too pretentious. Sometimes in places like this I feel a bit silly sitting there while someone rattles off a script about the wine list. This wasn't like that, it was much more informal but still felt really smart. We had a little bit of food as well which was also great.

Quite simply the best wine bar in the north. by the glass selection is ever changing and exotic. Wonderful staff to talk you through it all. Expect to pay £8-£12 per glass (and more if you wish to) but you get what you pay for! Second to none.

This place definitely exceeded expectations (which were high anyway).Lovely selection of wines, amazing pizza and the starters - are the real star of the show. We tried quite a large selection of items and we could not fault any one of them. Particular favourite was the boudin noir macaroon, which is absolute genius in my opinion.Worth every penny, with outstanding service - it is certainly a destination in itself when visiting York.

Fantastic cosy restaurant in central York. Excellent choice of wine and brilliant staff to help navigate it. We had four glasses of wine and a pizza. Pizza was better than I've had for ages - the cheese on it was spectacular.

Really good, relaxed atmosphere. A wide range of interesting wines with a very knowledgeable owner. Excellent food!

·

Great selection of wines. Very good service and lovely atmosphere. Not the cheapest place, but the prices are fair enough for what you get. Definately worth a visit (if you appreciate the wine).

Delicious Rioja, both orange and white, and scrumptious macarons. Also, the staff were very friendly, helpful and explained interesting titbits about the wine. Highly recommended.
