Not your average Indian. Many dishes you just don’t see in a typical Deshi curry house. Presentation is good, especially starters (see photo). Excellent value and really pleasant staff. Off the beaten track a bit but we’ll worth the walk.

We booked this not really knowing what to expect but we were all blown away by the food and service that we recieved here.We were all very full by the time we finished and unfortunately couldn't really manage a dessert, however we were bought a complimentary Indian sweet which we all tried and loved!Would definitely recommend and will be back if we are ever back in York again!Outstanding!

Mouth watering authentic South Indian cuisine!Ordered masala dosa, idli, gobi manchurian, chicken curry and rice. Everything tasted delicious! The restaurant decor and ambience makes you feel like you are in India! Very friendly staff. The owner herself came to ask if everything was ok which was very courteous. Highly recommend and would definitely go again.

Lovely restaurant on the outskirts of York (10 minute walk). Welcomed in and given a menu on arrival, food was delicious and filling. Menu smaller than other placed but made what was on offer better. Host gave recommendations and would definitely eat there again

Booked as looked OK, small place but excellent staff and food. The food is southern Indian food but was just soooooo good. Servers were excellent recommend meals and advising us not to order more than three rice and two breads which was plenty due to size of serving. Not happy as its a bit far to travel as we're two hours from this very special Indian restaurant, next time in York will be going there again.

This Southern Indian restaurant in York, GB serves sumptuous hot, tasty and good food to meet everyone’s palate. You can request if you want your dishes less spicy. The portion size is just right and they are reasonably priced. Do pay them a visit. I enjoyed the food during winter .

Fine South Indian food, plenty of variety in the meat, fish and veg dishes, touches of high quality with home-made character. Three of us most recently ate here and were all very satisfied with the food and service. The staff were courteous and efficient, and the service good. It happened that another larger table were celebrating loudly on this occasion, but for those who prefer to eat more quietly, my wife and I have eaten here several times over many years and would say that, while it's popular, it's not normally so noisy, only takes one table. It is not central (but not so very far outside the walls) so people are seeking it out, evidently with good reason.

We decided to have an unexpected early evening meal there. We had not booked, however this was not a problem. The restaurant is Southern Indian cuisine, which have coconut within some of the recipes of their food.I ordered a chickpea curry type dish, which had a version of a chapati and rice with it. It was very good, quite filling and rich in taste.Husband had a chicken curry dish, I cannot remember the name. That was very good, as I had a taste of that also... Rich in flavour. Slightly spiced. The price for the meal was very reasonable. Worth a try

Really good South Indian food – some of it served with a bit more elegance than what you would typically expect from an Indian restaurant. We started with Chicken 65 and Beef Dry Fry, both of which were served really elegantly. Portions were smaller than in most places but really more suitable as starters that way. Both were very delicious and a good start to the meal.My partner had a really nice Masala Dosa while I had the Appam and Kuttanadan Duck Curry. This was a really delicious meal and the tangy appam bread went really well with the slightly sweet curry sauce. We had coconut rice on the side. This was okay but the coconut was in the form of roasted slices of coconut (which was also used on the beef fry started) and I think dessicated coconut would have worked better. Also, I did not manage to find any of the promised cashew nuts in there. All in all, a delicious meal and definitely a step above your typical Indian restaurant. Service was good and quite fast too.
