The hotel was fine. Old faded grandeur but way over priced. It might be central but for a few extra minutes saved on walking into the main city you pay a premium for loud music from local venues and late night revellers.The restaurant was fine if basic in the morning for breakfast but we ate just one night there and the evening service was appalling. We were advised to book but no table was set ready for us or anyone. Service was so slow and then we were forgotten about. Food was okay but limited. With so many local venues to choose from one would think they would try harder.The restaurant certainly didn't reflect the price the hotel charges for its rooms and therefore the type of clientele they are trying to attract.Very disappointed.

I LOVED this place, the location was perfect, the room was lovely and the staff is amazing! Specially Cedric (I’m bad with names) who was a live safer. Good breakfast options 😋 I had a great week there

I had a fantastic stay here at the Dean Court hotel. The family room was lovely, nice and big enough for 3 people and a dog. Evening meal and breakfast was fantastic & the staff were superb. I highly recommend staying here

Beautiful hotel, nice clean rooms we had a lovely view of York minster in our standard room. We also had Breakfast in the morning, delicious full English & plenty of toast. Would definitely recommend this Hotel as the staff are excellent and very attentive to all your needs as it was my 50th and one of the guest brought this to the waitress attention and the Brough me a little cupcake with a candle. Just the little things extra touch 🙂

Stayed for my 30th - room was perfect, much bigger than expected. Breakfast was very tasty! Had a nice little present off the staff and card. Reasonable price and great staff!

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights. Absolutely beautiful hotel. The room was clean spacious and a wonderful view on to the minster. Breakfast was amazing hot and everything you could want. Now the staff well Absolutely amazing. Very welcoming..nothing to much trouble. Very friendly. Highly recommended a stay at this lovely hotel...you will not be disappointed from the beginning of your stay till the end ...definitely will be returning..thank you for making our new year stay amazing to all at dean Court hotel..Best wishes to all ...Mr and Mrs Sellers

Me and my partner had an absolutely wonderful overnight stay at Dean Court. We were greeted by the lovely reception staff who offered us a map of the city and took our bags to be waiting for us in our room when it was ready later that day (we dropped them off earlier than our check in time and there was no issues with this at all). In the morning we had a delicious cooked breakfast which can be tricky sometimes for us as we are both vegetarian/vegan but the hotel offered a great selection for us and even had some soya milk for my tea. We had a chat with Frank at breakfast who was one of the staff at the hotel, what a lovely man who made us feel so welcome and spoke so highly of the hotel and York. We left feeling very fulfilled with our stay and are already planning our next for the summertime!

What a beautifully situated hotel. The staff were fantastic so friendly and helpful. We stayed in a group of 6 people for 2 nights. It was an eventful, fun weekend and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely stay again.

The Dean Court is a wonderful hotel. All the staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Our room was spacious and spotless. We had afternoon tea one day and it was absolutely delicious. Breakfast was well cooked and the breakfast staff were friendly, polite and efficient. Overall it was a wonderful stay and we would recommend this hotel to anybody

We spent four nights at the Dean Court Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.On arrival at the hotel, we were welcomed by the porter, Frank, who looked after our luggage, helped us through check-in and parked our car. Frank was cheerful, knowledgeable and polite – thank you, Frank.Our stay at the Dean Court started off extremely well when we took afternoon tea in the lounge. There was a good selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes and the portions were generous.We had a queen room facing the Minster and the views were great. The room was large, airy and spotlessly clean, with a large on-suite bathroom. The plumbing was, however, a little antiquated and perhaps the new owners should consider updating this.Drinks in the hotel bar were reasonably priced and the service was excellent.There was plenty of choice of both hot and cold options for breakfast, and everything was freshly cooked to order. The eggs Benedict was delicious.As with other Best Western Hotels at which we have stayed, the staff were excellent. We will definitely stay at the Dean Court Hotel again.
