Excellent fish & chips while celebrating Mother’s Day with our daughter. Curry sauce was delicious too. Free meal for mothers today so generously tipped and entered the raffle to support Ukraine. Highly recommend!

Perfect stop for a wonderfully delicious, but not greasy meal. Will definitely go back soon. Picture is the regular size portion of the haddock and chips with a side of curry sauce.

Excellent fish and chips, food was great, service good and overall the experience was lovely. Bit of a wait due to it being busy but well worth it. Will be returning!

The fish and chips are absolutely brilliant from Drake's at the moment. We've had takeaway twice and eaten in once over the last couple of months and the quality is always great. Good portions, tasty fish and chips and friendly staff. I also love the decor. A great place to visit for eat in or takeaway

The temple of hearty food in York, this institution is so popular due to its immensely meticulous service and divinely fresh fare. The promisingly golden, fluffy interiors of the chips offer an impressive flavour while the Haddock was spellbinding as the crunchy batter melts with the fresh juices of the fish. Bakery sliced bread makes an absolute stupefyingly deluxe sandwich. Lesson for all visitors, don’t wait, don’t postpone, don’t put on hold, dine here and you’re stomach will be in heaven.

After a visit to York for a couple of days for the Christmas Market we fancied Fish and Chips! I can safely say its the best Fish and Chips I've ever had!!! Staff are amazing food is outstanding and it's a beautiful place! We can't wait to return next year!

Gluten free heaven....coeliacs are in safe hands here and it's also delicious!!Sara and her team went to great lengths to ensure that my son and I could eat safely. We are coeliac and this includes corn gluten so, as we are unable to have typical gluten free batter, Sara made sure that we could have poached fish or pan fried salmon (in olive oil as most vegetable oils contain corn). The chef even came over to assure us that he had cooked our chips separately. It is so heart warming to be taken care of in this way and we really appreciated being able to eat a meal with confidence knowing that it wouldn't make us ill. Even without this care and attention to allergies, I would rate this restaurant as excellent due to the quality and taste of the food. One of the best fish and chip meals I've ever had!

Can I give 20 stars just this once?? This place has been awesome for so many years and having not been for years it’s as incredible now as I remember it. Belly busting good grub within spitting distance of York Minster. I love the freshly baked bread. Eat in or takeout. I love to eat in every time.

Generous portions, good fish and chips place ! Lots of space inside (it doesn’t look it from the outside) as initially it strikes like take away shop so nice surprise to find lovely seating on the inside. Staff is very friendly and service was really quick… chunky chips are great, fish was tasty too and fried onion inside the burger was great too. Check out yourself I would recommend…
