Duke of York in York

Absolutely lovely place - we went for drinks and also for Sunday lunch the following day. A great selection of draughts and wines, and the Sunday lunch was really tasty - and very reasonably priced - despite the excellent location in the heart of York. Service was great and staff were lovely.Would certainly visit again once in York. I would recommend booking in advance as it can be busy on the weekend. Booking system online is extremely easy.

Nice cosy pub, layout is great, they've used the space they have very well. Beer is good, food was very tasty (Sunday Roast).

Just a Chtistmas dinner there, it was out of this world 3 courses and a bottle of Pinot Grigio. Highly recommended, but need to book. Starter poach pear etc plus Turkey Main and Christmas Pudding for Desert. Excellent.

We had an outstanding 3 course meal on new year's eve. We can't recommend highly enough. The food was 5 star, so nicely presented. The staff were amazing! We were so well looked after. We shall return! All the very best for 2022!!

Roast Beef dinner was amazing. Staff really helpful and attentive. Even advised that beef was medium rare. Which I love however the wife prefers well done so she was able to change her order prior so wasn't a disappointment.

We visited on a holiday. Beautiful, warm and friendly pub in the heart of York. Steak night Friday- 2 meals and a bottle of wine for £35. Excellent. Cooked perfectly and delicious. Really lovely staff and our server James was great. Deffinatly visit again.

Wow, what a choice of handpulled beers! Very impressive, there were 12 pumps on of assorted ales. Right on King's Square, this pub is centrally located and handy for the market, the Minster, Chocolate Story and Shambles just round the corner. It has outdoor seating to the front proffering prime viewing of the many and varied street entertainers. Loos are upstairs and the upstairs is much smaller than downstairs. Snug and cosy pub with old wooden beams. Prompt service. Good beer.

Had a lovely lunch on a recent visit to York. Great service by Josh and team big portions. Cosy atmospheric interior as well with the odd bit of entertainment right outside. Thoroughly enjoyed thank you.

Friendly pub and good beers. I had the fish on chips, yes the chips were hidden under the fish.(makes a change to them being in separate tin). Not a bad meal though.

Just a nice pub, which we always visit when in York. Haven't eaten here, but it's always one point when we have a gin based evening! The Sing gin is lovely, grape based but with gin botanicals.
