Overpriced and expensive. £7.60 for a pint of 5% beer brewed down the road (Brew York Juicy Forsyth) Daylight robbery! Wasn’t warned of cost before ordering! Avoid!

Dropped in on the spur of the moment and was genuinely impressed. The staff were personable and shared a joke (an increasingly rare trait), and the food was excellent. We had the haddock and chips - and, since we're from Grimsby, we know good fish and chips when we taste it. This was spot on!

Very nice pub in the centre of York with a great selection of beers and local ales. Comfortable seating. Reasonably priced. Really good service and I had a really nice time sampling the local brews

It's a beautiful pub with retro vibes not very far from Minster. Good mix of religion and vice!! Loved the food and the service both. Visited with my family slightly late in the afternoon - very little crowd - the staff was friendly and the service was really quick. Recommended to hang out here for tourists, friends and family. Cheers!!

Nice quiet pub with a lovely sunny patio. Decent pub grub for lunch and good selection of beers. Staff are very welcoming and inclusive (we are both visually impaired).

The pub itself is lovely, a hidden gem but the same could not be said of the customer service. Booked a room for an event, lit candles on a birthday cake, no one said it wasn't allowed and candles on all the rables in the room. A very rude staff member came to the room and from the doorway proceeded to say "have you just lit firecrackers? Can you not do that, take it outside". This if said in a more appropriate manner wouldn't have been an issue, but to do this in front of all the guests wasn't really appropriate. No one asked if we had enjoyed the night or if everything was OK. Such a shame that one staff member let it down really

Having visited York last year. We wanted Sunday dinner here but could not get a table. So on our second visit we booked a head of time to not be disappointed. The Sunday roast is lovely, but the service was not so good. We waited over an hour for someone to take our dessert order, and eventually went to the bar to order it ourselves. The deserts were OK, but the portions were very different 🤔 for the same desserts.

Lovely place, the staff were nice and welcoming. The children's food was great & the steaks we ordered were cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend to eat here.

·

Super - traditional roast and my veggie option and nice range of beers added with attentive staff, made for a very pleasant Sunday luntime

A nice bright and airy pub that sells a very good range of beer. The food is well worth sampling as well. We had the both battered fish and steak sandwiches. The bread was nice and chunky as were the chips. Its well worth a visit if you are passing by.
