Four Alls Inn in York

Very friendly staff nice decor. The food is nice maybe a bit pricey, the Desserts are very nice. I have two niggles the staff seem to be on a hard sell we were asked 3 times if we wanted water, and even after getting our drinks we were asked 3 times if we were having red wine, the last attempt was if you don't want red wine I will take the glasses away. The other is the 12.5% service charge is automatically added which you can have removed the staff are polite but quite vocal asking if you want it removed, feels like a bit of a guilt trip. It is a nice place with decent food but there are plenty of other places doing better without the hard sell.

Even though a little pricy, we had a very nice couple of steaks, beer & coffee, fudge & run. Great staff & nice layout.

We had booked a dog friendly area here. Worth booking as it seemed very busy. Staff were fantastic, food was lovely. I had a steak & it was so good. Highly recommend eating here. Lovely wine also. Would definitely go back. Great 80's music and a few themed bits behind the bar.

Nice to have a steak out that I didn't think I could have done much better myself at home for a change. Good atmosphere, service, drinks and desserts. Need to add chimichurri to the sauces.

Lovely food and staff. Beautiful dining rooms and a great terrace. The halibut was excellent. Dog friendly too

Wow what a lovely place. Food was delicious and the service from all staff friendly and impeccable. Highly recommended for Sunday lunch.

Had a lovely dinner tonight. Service was excellent and food was very good. Ask some interesting wallpaper in the bar room 🤪

Just pretty terrible!! I never write reviews but I was so disappointed with this place as everyone had recommended it and the steak was shocking. See pic of mine. My husbands’ was terrible and he left it all. I attempted to eat mine 😬😂Just a bit gutted as it was our last night In York and my husbands birthday weekend.The service was however excellent! Very friendly and when we told them we were unhappy they were helpful and took the steak off the bill.Guess we may have been unlucky as perhaps the chef went home early! (We ate at 9.30pm but booked it way before as they were fully booked)It still doesnt make up for the fact the food was so bad and I wish I had chosen another restaurant in York.:(

Delicious food in a lovely setting close to the river. This place knows how to write a menu. My first time trying seitan steak (vegan) and not disappointed. Friendly helpful service from all the staff.

The restaurant made a bad impression.First of all, the assessment consists of several factors and the taste of food is only one of them. I booked a table in advance and warned that my companion was celebrating her birthday. I asked for a small cakewith a candle.Many times before the visit, I was annoyingly received emails and managers called me asking if we would definitely come. I confirmed that we would be there, and I also said by phone that it was special day.When we arrived, it turned out that our reservation was "forgotten", we could not be put in place for a long time. The table was "sandwiched" between other tables. The waitress was actively selling additional dishes and talking about her life in Poland (why?). It was hot last week and there is no air conditioning in the hall. In the end, the bill for a dinner for two with a couple of glasses of wine was over £ 100. And none of the waiters remembered that they were supposed to make a "surprise" and congratulations to my companion.If you want to not only eat but also have a good time, don't come here.
