Happy valley in York

Amazing Chinese food and great service! The restaurant is located in a lovely historic building and the staff are very friendly and attentive. We ordered the 3-course set menu and thought it was great value for money. The food was amazing and the portions were really big.

Prices worth the quantity and quality of the food. It's warm and tasty and absolutely the best in town. The taste sets you good after a along day of either wandering around as a tourist or studying. A cosy hug. The service is amazing as well, very careful about customers' needs and fast. Starters come as soon as one sits down but mains are unbelievable. So, don't be scared about "high" prices because at least you're gonna be repaid with a very good time. To visit over and over again, especially for portion sizes (definitely not tapas but big generous plates). Five stars and beyond.

Just this second stopped eating and had to write a review to say that this is genuinely the best resteraunt i think i have ever been to. The hospitality, the quality and quantity of food has been unparalleled. The decor is juxtapositioned as its a chinese resteraunt in a victorian building but hey ho thats york, its different :) whilst im in uni, i will dine here very often in the future..

I found the food to be if a very high standard,well cooked and very tasty.When l went with my family we were well looked after and not kept waitingThere was also alot of Chinese people sitting down eating which l always think is a good endorsement for a restaurant.Would l go back most definitely.

Lovely food. Very attentive staff. Good old fashioned Chinese restaurant, nothing fancy inside but the food and excellent staff more then makes up for it.

Absolutely stunning food, great service and very reasonable prices. I've always loved coming to this place. It's not flashy or gimmicky but it's always one of my favourite places to eat.

Fantastic! As a hongkonger came from Happy Valley of Hong Kong Island, surprisingly delicious dumplings and dim sum in Cantonese style. Sure will come again soon while visiting York.

When I lived in York I used to order from them all the time which was so nice. When eating in the atmosphere was lovely, staff were polite and the food was absolutely tasty. The duck was the tastiest I ever had, portions sized were good value for money. Very nice place and tasty food indeed.

Another lovely meal today. Even though there are 1000s of places to eat in York we always have to go here! Not a flashy restaurant but fabulous food as always, excellent value on main menu or specials. I would highly recommend you try the lunchtime specials £8.50 for 2 course!! You can just about get a decent sandwich and drink for that in the city. We went later but still a couple of offers on the go. We will definitely try the cooking pots next time.
