Easy to walk past if you don't know it's there which would be a shame as it has really great tasting sandwiches & soups. Excellent value for money and service with a smile.

Really friendly and welcoming owner and staff. Make custom sandwiches and toasties at a really good price, also taste great. Fantastic location and popular judging by the constant flow of customers. Will visit again when next in York!

Was walking past and smelt the most amazing smelling spicy soup today... unfortunately it wasn’t ready to serve so got a toasted meatball sub instead- didn’t regret it at all very nice and good service. Really reasonable prices and in such a good location!

Just was reminiscing my travel from last year. Had coffee here sitting outside taking in the beautiful view of York. Coffee was great and so the staff were lovely.

Great little shop with really tasty soup, filling sandwiches, and loads of snacks. The staff are always friendly, and the lunchtime queues always go down fast. It's reasonably priced, too!My only gripe is that customers tend to leave with quite a bit of single-use plastic in their bag. Maybe ask customers to take a plastic spoon only if they need one, or even better replace them with bamboo ones? Not sure what you could do about the plastic containers, to be fair, but it'd be great if they could be easily recycled.

Hartleys is in such a beautiful small building right on the bridge you cannot miss itwe were going to call in for something but there were a number of people inwitch is a good thing as you know the food is good .with us looking around York the time seemed to fly and it was time for us to travel back homenext time we visit York we will have to pop in here

Best bacon sandwiches I've ever had. They've got a great selection of food, the tuna salad is delicious and filling. Can't beat the prices either, and the staff are lovely!
