Heworth Plaice in York

Decent standard each time we go. Usually get fish bites (5) chips and curry X2/3 depending on numbers. Tasty fish, good portion size and decent value for money.

Great food, great staff. Very friendly atmosphere 🙂

Excellent fish and chips, in particular the fish is worth a second commendation.

Been three times now, first time very nice.2nd time chips great fish a bit dry, and having rang and agreed a collection time nothing was ready.3rd time chips good again, but one fish had the strangest texture. It wasn't dry. It was chewy, over half went in the bin. Very strange indeed.Be the last time we go, which is a shame as its close to us.Emailed you 👍 marked to a two due to a response.

Lovely fish and chips very large portions. Great friendly staff realy enjoyed it x

The fish and chips x 3 + small fish and large curry sauce. My husband was charged just over £26. Not sure how they came to this amount.

What a place! Great portions, curry sauce was splendorous. Very flavourful fish and chunky, crispy chips. Would most definitely recommend Heworth Plaice to anyone visiting York or lives near by.

The important thing about a fish n chip shop is not the clever name, but whether the food is actually good - in this instance I have to say that the homemade chips and quality fish are always superb! If they would just introduce a proper Sheffield style fishcake with potato layers it could be my top rated chippy of all time!
