Hollywood Lounge Bar, Pizza & Grill in York

I dont leave reviews but on this occasion i feel like the service and food deserved my time to leave a review. We had a 3 course meal and every course was perfect. The steak was cooked to perfection and the sticky toffee pudding is to die for. Food is reasonably priced, drinks are a touch expensive but no complaints as the experience was fantastic.I went on a busy Saturday night with my partner and 6 month old baby. The staff did all they could to make us comfortable, they found us a suitable table to house the pram and sourced a high chair immediately giving us plenty of space to dine comfortably whilst managing a baby.Thank you so much for an amazing meal.

Fair prices for okay ish food. We had some starters and nibbles with our drinks so it was okay. Pizza was okay with basic toppings. We have experienced 4 different waiters and 4 different levels of customer service. We paid our main bill with food and drinks and then ordered another round of drinks. And then, we noticed that we got extra 10% included to our bill regardless, and it says on the bill that this 10% are OPTIONAL. We were fine with that, we have already paid the main bill and we decided not to pay this extra 10% fees on the smaller bill for the drinks. So we said this to the waitress who served us. Well, she got a bit upset and her mood changed very dramatically. She was not getting it, she was asking as if we're not satisfied. We had to explain to her that we just not paying this extra 10% even though we enjoyed food and drinks up to this point clearly. She just silently walked away without saying a word to get a new bill for us and served few customers on her journey back. I mean, c'mon guys this is basics of customer service you need to hold your face and perform to your best standards if you want to retain your customers.

Discovered this on a visit to York, recommended by friends who live in York. Excellent choice and a fixed price menu choice always helps with settling the bill at the end if you've all had the same. Prompt service and quality to match. It's now a regular for us on visits.

The vegan options were very poor, especially the starter. It was literally pieces of lettuce with mushrooms and onion thrown on top, not a seasoning in sight. How that can be served as a starter is beyond me.It's misleading when they say they have a separate vegan menu, but then the only vegan main, apart from a salad, is a burger. They had no vegan cheese, vegan butter, or vegan milk. I had to have a black coffee. Having vegan dairy products is the bare minimum, they're so easily supplied these days.What Italian restaurant offering vegan options doesn't offer egg free pasta, or vegan cheese? It was poor.My parents who aren't vegan had pasta and risotto, which they said were nice, but then they had Irish coffees, which were cold. They were offered a replacement with separate cream that they could pour on themselves, but surely it's down to the staff to do this as we are paying for their services, not to do things ourselves?The restaurant is gorgeous, great atmosphere, reasonably priced, food average, vegan food, very sub par.I'd rather they not cater towards vegans at all, if they can't be bothered to put any effort in. Shoving a couple of thoughtless vegan dishes on the menu doesn't do the job I'm afraid.Non vegans: it's fine, there's certainly nicer but it does the jobVegans: don't bother

5 stars for food, 4.5 stars for hospitality.For future reference, please don't make guests feel uncomfortable by assuming they're not going to pay - Especially if they're black. This surprise meal for me was amazing until this uncomfortable experience. Other than this, the food was delectable (10/10) and the main waitress was lovely. Thank you and enjoy the tip. ☺

Lovely atmosphere, friendly service, big portions of tasty food. Good selection of good and drinks.

Very nice and reasonably priced food.Nice selection of beers (some bottled some on tap)Hands down the best olives I have had in a while. That is not to say the pizza wasn't also amazing as you cannot beat a real stonbaked pizza.

Good service, good food. Had the halloumi starter, margarita pizza and chips - recommend the pizza especially! Lots of vegetarian options as well.

Very nice restaurant, was shown a table downstairs but after sitting the manager asked if we preferred a seat upstairs which was much better, the food came out very quickly, a bit too quick and the scallops were not King scallops but very small and disappointing.
