Hopgrove Toby Carvery in York

Went at 4.30pm on a weekday. Not too busy at all. Straight in and got a table. No queue for the carvery. Food was tasty & good range of 4 meats. Very reasonable price £7.49 for carvery.

Large car park. Spacious family restaurant with separate eating areas. Plenty of tables and a nice atmosphere. Good food with generous portions. Friendly, attentive staff. Enjoyable evening.

Called in for a spot of lunch @1:15pm, we were seated quickly and efficiently. The carvery selection was not great - as all of the meats were the scrag ends of the joints and were pretty dry from being under the hot lights so long. We chose the best of what what there (beef and pork). The veg selection was average. Would we come back? Maybe but we certainly are not rushing back.

Fabulous carvery. Good sized portions, gorgeous Yorkshire pudding and the root veg gratin was a big hit. Loved the addition of red cabbage and green beans, made the plate very pleasing to look at!Will definitely be back.

The waitress we had called LEONIE was brilliant. She was very polite and friendly. The calvery I had was very nice and the chef was helpful with some scraps of turkey for my mums cat.. Overall a nice relaxing lunch with a good atmosphere and a nice HOT coffee to finish..

Fantastic food as per usual and fantastic service from all the staff especially Ellie May who despite been rushed of her feet was there if we needed anything. Certainly nice to see things back to normal since covid.Thanks again for a wonderful evening.

Great food today meats were all nice and well cooked being thinly sliced. Yorkshire and roasts both good too. Only issue is some days it can be perfect others meh. It’s one or the other with Toby

If you love and enjoy a traditional roast dinner then Toby Carvery is definitely the place to go! Friendly, attentive staff, frest meat & vegetables, we visit for birthdays to get the family together, we even held my son's wedding reception there. They gave us the function suite and totally removed all the stress of the day! Highly recommend!!👌

Visited the Hopgrove York branch today for the carvery . Food was good our only complaint was several items missing from veg selection. Staff where amazing from the very funny guy at the front of house to our waitress Nicola. Highly recommended and we will be back

Had a couple of meals here whilst staying at the Holiday Inn next door. The staff were very accommodating, polite and efficient. The first day we had the Carvery, mostly very nice, filling. Pleased I only had the small plate. Think I timed it wrong for the Yorkshire pudding as mine was chewy, the brought a fresh tray out when we sat down 😂. The next day I had prawn salad and my wife had Salmon , both were very nice and also managed a pudding and a couple of pints.
