Indian Fusion in York

Was on the edge about the quality based on reviews but this restaurant is an absolute gem!!Top marks to the chef and the staff. We requested to make it a bit spicy and they made it legit Indian spicy and flavorful food.Will definitely visit again whenever in York.

My wife and myself visited this excellent restaurant at York on Tuesday 8th March 2022.Both the meal and service were of the highest quality, we both agreed it was one of the best Indian meals we ever had.The 29 States Indian restaurant at York can not be recommended enough.

Without doubt the best Indian restaurant in York. The food is fresh and each dish has an individual taste. The service is relaxed, professional yet friendly. The chef even came out to ask us and others how their meal was. I will definitely be back!

Excellent curries. Not the flashiest of places but it is clean and welcoming. Fine customer service. The chef will freely talk to you and check with you if you enjoyed your meal. Also value for money.

Shocking, we arrived and most of the tables were dirty and still had plates etc on them. We was seated at a table and the chair was extremely wobbly. I then swapped the chair for one that was placed at the table next to us. This chair was also wobbly, not as bad but the cushioned seat was filthy just like all the other chairs within view. We thought we'd give it the benefit of the doubt and order some poppadoms, browse the menu and not judge a book by its cover. Poppadoms arrived and were very greasy. The menu is short and missing some of the usual dishes found at the vast majority of Indian restaurants. We decided to leave and go to another restaurant. We ended up at Bombay Spice where the whole experience and meal was exceptional.

Wow! I think it could possibly be the best Indian food I have had in 40 years. Seriously. If your visiting York, just book here. We will be back, hopefully soon.

Absolutely amazing taste! You wouldn't say that by seeing the place from outside as it looks small and nothing extraordinary, but honestly easily overtakes branded restaurant like MyLahore or Sheesh Mahal, Amazing taste of everything! It's a bit more expensive than average restaurant and enter the high class category but for the food quality it's absolutely worth it and recommended. In the pic you can see Kashmiri Lamb Karahi, Achari Chicken (One of the best I've ever tasted), Daam Aloo, Tarka Dhaal, Tandoori Roothi and Salad. Huge loss is the absence of traditional rooti or chapatis as they only have Tandoori stuff. Absolutely deserve 5 stars. Well done to the Chef.

Absolutely love this restaurant. Exceptionally tasty food and friendly staff. Have been here twice now with a total of 5 mains and 4 starters and all were cooked beautifully. I cannot emphasis enough how flavourful the curries are. With the Groupon or Tastecard discount it makes it very affordable which is the reason we went initially. Would definitely recommend.

It’s a great Indian restaurant that serve nicely prepared dishes from starters and main curry dishes with very soft and freshly baked naan bread! The saffron basmati rice is a must try as it’s fluffy and light. Highly recommended and would visit again. Very good table service with social distancing measures!

The places smells divine when you enter and the food doesn't fail to deliver .General bad night where even the chef had to serve food and service was slow.That said the food was exceptional. It may be one of the best tasting Indian main courses I have ever had.
