A good stop off point. Based on the UK fish chips places I've visited in the past, gets a 5 star. Tried the cod & chips... batter was thin and crispy and the chips didn't taste like cardboard. If I was living in York, would visit this place again.

Lost a couple of stars for use of old cooking oil but the rest because there was a sizable stone in the mushy peas. I hate to leave bad reviews but this could have ended in broken teeth, and to top it off there was no response from restaurant either.

This is not an English owned or run chipshop. We purchased several meals from here and we ended up throwing them away. First the chips were awful, cold, tasteless and not fresh The jumbo sausage was hard and not fresh more stale then anything. The chicken breast was the size of a budgie and tasteless. Very overpriced and utterly disgusting food. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME coming here as you will just end up throwing it away and then regretting it later in the bathroom.

Ordered for the 1st time this evening unfortunately my cod and chips was missing from my order!! I rang the shop and explained they quickly got someone to ring me back!! I was sent out my fish and chips 45mins later with no apology from anyone!! Was rather annoyed has I couldn’t eat my meal with the family has there’s would have gone cold!! What I will say though is that the fish and chips was very nice and I really did enjoy them!!

Really tasty haddock in light crispy batter and delicious chips. Good value for money and friendly staff. A few seats in the windows for eating in the shop, but only for convenience, not intended as a sit in restaurant. Free sauces are a bonus.

Always been a favourite chippy from being young, recently visited and even to this day not been disappointed. Great food and staff would highly recommend!

Lovely fish & chips for 3 people although when we got home they had forgotten to include 2 cans of drink we had ordered. In fairness we didn't go back and give them opportunity to rectify this but it was still disappointing...

Staff were friendly and polite I ordered fish and chips to share. Chips were great but I was disappointed with the fish as it was tasteless and watery I won't be going back

The best fish and chips in York in my opinion. They are always extremely tasty, the haddock and chips is just so yummy. The staff are always friendly and swift at the orders. Highly recommend 👌
