La Piazza in York

The place was quite cosy and had a homey feel to it. Diners had the option to eat within the restaurant premises or to have their food at the little outdoor area at the back. The menu had quite a selection of Italian dishes and were fairly priced. Descriptions were also available under the name of the dish in the menu for people who were curious about the dish ingredients. The food was served promptly and steaming, and in huge portions! The restaurant was quite big (I believe 2 levels (or 3)), however when we ate there, only the ground floor (very spacious) was utilised. When we got up to the first floor to use the toilets, they were clean and inviting. We also chanced upon a huge room that could probably be used by 10-15 people, or a family for dining privately.Great ambiance and service, good food and reasonable prices! Will definitely come back again!

Faultless for service, food and value. Traditional Italian restaurant in the centre of York. First time we visited but will certainly return. Shared a garlic bread to start with which was crispy and delicious before mains of Spaghetti Bolognese and Grilled Salmon. Both cooked to perfection.

Was in York for one week, went here for dinner three times. Was lucky to get a table first time as it was a very busy Saturday evening, but they squeezed us in, so unlike other places which made no effort when they said they were fully booked. Welcoming staff, very good food and reasonably priced.

My favourite restaurant in York, amazing food and service every time. Lovely atmosphere and a warm welcome. Been going for over 20 years and I hope to be going for the next 20!

I love eating at La Piazza. It's not only lovely food but the atmosphere is great and the building is so full of character. The owners and staff are really welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The same family has run the place for years and it shows. It's not fancy, it is just really good Italian food.

Fast serving, nice food and brilliant desserts

We were last in for lunch, and they were literally closing down the kitchen as we ordered, but our pizza arrived swiftly, nothing was too much trouble and we were left in peace to enjoy it. The staff went and ate their lunch while we ate ours, and they then went about cleaning down and setting up for dinner around us but at no point were we made to feel hurried or rushed in any way.The hospitality was second to none, the pizza dough was thin, the toppings were fresh and tasty, and I look forward to returning there when next in York.

My favourite Italian restaurant in York. Fabulous food, always great service in a lovely atmosphere.Prices are just right, the staff are super friendly.Am delighted to hear it's having a refurbishment as the decor could do with updating. Can't wait to come back.

We arrived really late to eat, close to 11 pm 01/11/19 and the owners were very welcoming and very attentive. Despite being really late and they must have had a really long day we were never rushed and we were very comfortable and enjoyed a fabulous meal. cannot be faulted in any way, the food was cooked and seasoned to perfection , the wine we were served complimented the meal beautifully and the owner (didn`t get his name) was a super nice chap and we put the world to rights between us. One of the best dining experiences we have ever had, thank you so much La Piazza xx we`ll be back.

Lovely food, a warm welcome and we always go back, because it's just the best.
