Loch Fyne - York in York

The restaurant is beautiful and the food is fresh and delicious. We had the mix grilled fish and some starters and all was amazing. The staff is super professional and very nice. Better books the table in advance because the place tends to be very busy.

We booked for early dinner (5pm.) Service was excellent from entering to leaving. We had oysters to start, they were excellent. My wife always has the poached Scottish smoked haddock which is delicious. I tried the mixed sea food grill which was just enough but I could have eaten more., I may ask for a sauce with it next time. Cheese cake for pudding. The restaurant was lovely and warm which was appreciated on a cold and windy day. Drinks can be pricey but it depends what you like to drink. Overall we really enjoyed our meal. I don't think I would ever return to this place. Not because it was bad, but because it wasn't anything special. I thought most of the main courses (cod, tortellini, risotto) were unfortunately pretty bland - more safe than tasty or interesting. The service, while friendly, was incredibly slow - we were a table of 4 sat at 17:30 and we were still waiting on dessert after 20:00. Prices seemed fair and the dessert was tasty enough. All in all not a BAD experience, but that'll be all for me.

Amazing oysters with great staff service, long history and got to understand more about the restaurant from the staff, the oysters were so fresh! Wish I got more room😂

Overall a 10/10 experience. Staff were really experience and professional the entire evening and have top quality service. Food was absolutely unbelievable. lobster was on point. Had flavour and quality and cooked world class. Decent amount of meat for a lobster and a really good price compared to the area. Will definitely be going back there again to try the rest of the menu.

Fanciest place I've been too and it's lovely! Food is amazing I had seabass with samphire and dauphinoise potatoes and my partner got the seafood mix grill I tried the oysters but they certainly aren't to my taste, partner loved them though! staff are very nice and attentive👍🏼 Definitely visit again.😁

Visited 27/10/2021Our Last night in York and fancied treating ourselves, so opted for sea food, was originally to be seated next to the door but asked for somewhere further in as it was a cold evening. All in all was not disappointed with the meal or the venue, just would have liked bit more on the seafood grill to justify the cost.The steamed megrim was very nice but be warned, it’s a boney fish, and difficult to extract them all.Hope you find this review helpful. The food at Loch Fynne was very good. Sadly there are several options I had ask for that they didn't currently have in stock when I ordered ( Rose and Samphire). The Tuna was good and I enjoyed it being rare on the inside and griller on the outside

Heard many great things about this place so finally had the chance to check it out and it did not disappoint. Upon arrival we were escorted to the back of the restaurant and sat in a corner. Unfortunately the table was pushed against the radiator and it was stuck on and could not be turned off so we had to move our table slightly along in order to enjoy our time there. Looking out the window all I could see was cobwebs and dead insects so I would suggest that the restaurant look into potentially getting that cleaned as it wasn't pleasant to look at. However that is the only negative thing I could say. Our waiter (I think his name was Andrew but could be wrong) was nothing short of amazing. Unfortunately the wine we had wanted wasn't available but he was able to recommend an alternative that was amazing and went well with our food. I had the poached haddock and my partner had the mixed seafood grill and I can't say enough how tasty everything was (especially the poached haddock). Was also told that if we returned within 4 weeks we would get 25% off with our receipt. Definitely going again and would recommend to everyone.

Had a fantastic night. Social distancing was well thought out and made no difference to a great atmosphere. Food excellent all served with smiling eyes. As staff all wore masks. Our waitress was very attentive chatting and helping by explaining dishes we were interested in. Very knowledgeable.
