McDonald's in York

As a student I come here a fair amount, and when I tell you this is the worst McDonald’s by far I’ve ever been to I am completely being reasonable. The food is cold 90% of the time. Drinks NEVER have ice in them. Chips are never salted. You can be the only order in the place and they’ll still drag your order out for 10 minutes. You’re lucky to get the sauce your food is supposed to come with. Waiting times are a joke. One vertically challenged stank face male staff member in particular with a rageddy beard has the worst attitude among fast food workers I’ve ever encountered. I’m not saying I expect Gordon Ramsay in the kitchen cooking me a gourmet burger but some basic standards of service would be lovely. There are a few lovely workers there but unfortunately this doesn’t make up for anything. Frankly the McDonald’s at kings cross is a much better establishment.

Capacity to accommodate many people on ground floor and first floor. More staff and kiosks for better and faster service. Locating from outside was bit difficult though. Toilet facilities are also good for many people.

Filthy dirty Mc Donald's. Probably the dirtiest fast food joint I have ever stepped into. Not sure what the underlying issue is here, but I was appalled. Seating areas upstairs were particularly bad. Upturned cartons of curry sauce smeared across a table, pieces of curled up decaying lettuce left discarded on the table top also. Smushed in chips on the floor. I carry sanitising wipes & did my best to clean the table I sat at. However despite my best efforts there were stains that were so engrained, my paltry wipe couldn't budge them.The machine I ordered my food from upstairs had no till receipt paper in it, (despite two rolls of fresh till paper being left on top of it). So I didn't get an order number, had to go downstairs & speak w an employee to be told that I needed to speak to a different person to find out my order number.Just smacks of laziness!Food was fine, standard Mc Donald's fare, but the filth & general decrepitude of the place was a bit of a shocker.Even under the appliances in the kitchen you could see the floor hadn't been cleaned in a while, food debris scattered under the work surfaces.Wasn't sure if I should mention the toilets, but they were hazardous. Two of the four ladies toilets were blocked. The sanitary bins hadn't been checked in ages, & sanitary waste wrappers were scattered at the top of the bins & some fell outside the bins. Wonky tap at the third basin too, felt like it was going to come loose.Staff were obliging & I think under a lot of pressure, so awarding one star for them.

Disgusting toilets with broken lock which meant someone ended up walking in on me! Absolutely unacceptable from a company that's supposed to have clear, strict cleaning regimes.

Ordered large latte double cheeseburger . cheeseburger cold returned, second burger Luke warm. Very poor cheep for a reason. Veggie medium burger not much better Coke flat. Nobody cleaning up. very busy making lots of money for the company. Recommend going for better food and paying a bit more for better service. Wouldn't return there are better outlets giving better service.

I found this to be a nice restaurant to sit in, having a large area full of tables that had cleanliness maintained. My employee meal discount could not be used on the app at this restaurant for some reason despite how I returned to work 3 weeks ago and when I spoke to the staff about it, they did absolutely nothing to help me. I bought myself some cheese melt dippers too that were tasty and relatively fresh, though the breadcrumbs were knocked off the top of 2, showing the kitchen workers weren't careful enough.

Unbelievable first time ever nearly empty !!!Still it isNew year's Day York fairly quiet as well , it will pick up later when the hangover people need to get out

Worst ever - food was stone cold. Burger - bacon double cheeseburger was like a chimpanzee with a stroke had made it and bacon was pretty much all fat. Staff were poor, no systems in place to deal with busy time. Customers waiting and two managers hiding in the office. Very poor. Would not recommend. 29-7-21

I ordered with the self-service machine and haven’t got a receipt. One of the staff helped me a lot and make sure I’ll know when my food is ready. I made changes to my meal and they were ignored unfortunately

Mid-afternoon on a Friday the waiting time was about 5-6 minutes after using the self service computer screen. I simply ordered the new McSpicy, and ate it sat outside in the street on one of their table/chairs. I’m not sure why the restaurant isn’t open to “dine in” because it should be - but maybe it’s due to lack of Staff from Covid pings..? 🤔The burger itself was fine, it’s reasonably spicy so they’ve probably got it about right in that department to cover all basis, but it’s not as good as the KFC Zinger which let’s face it is who their aiming it at. Does this mean KFC will start trying to sell beef burgers…?!?!It was fine but needs to be a real breast of chicken, rather than messed about with processed chicken. Shame, as Macy’s had a good opportunity there.
