Really excellent fish and chips, staff were nice and the service was quick and food was great, tasted surprisingly fresh caught.

Tried the place after many years.asked for a fish butty and was met with confusion, recieved a large paper bag big enough for a weekly shop, inside was a cardboard box another paper bag containing salt and vinegar in sachets.the tea cake wasnt buttered but had a seperate catering packet of butter with no knife to butter it with,no fork to eat the fish with and no napkin to wipe my greasy hands with after.im guessing the £7.30 was mainly the cost of the packaging and printing necessary to hype up the mediocre meal.

Best takeaway fish n chips in the area.Bit of a wait, but we’ll worth it.

Second visit to Millers in the last week due to crazy work days and craving a chip butty. First occasion was told no bread left a night before a busy weekend so left empty handed.Very friendly guy serving through the hatch tonight, placed my order and walked home with a paper bag bigger than most carrier bags. Got in and found this (see photos below).... portion of chips, bread roll, curry sauce and battered sausage - £6. Bread roll was literally 8cm across with barely a handful of chips (they don't do chip butties, you pay for separate portions). Was actually a brioche roll too, not a buttered bread cake. Curry sauce nearly cold, chips and sausage were warm and tasted fine.I don't think I've ever eaten a chip butty made with a biscuit sized sweet brioche and where a single chip covers the full width of the bread roll. Sorry, I know things are getting more expensive but this was amazingly bad value and I was the only customer in the place at the time. Just discovered my wife ordered fish and chips from here in February and the fish didn't even fill 2/3 of the batter and was dripping in oil.

Friendly service but the food wasn't for me. The fish was too oily and the batter was nothing special. I wish them all the best but I wouldn't be revisiting.

·

THE best chippy I've ever been to and believe me I've been to a great many. Delicious with great selection and service and the cleanliness and hygiene are second to none. You won't be disappointed.

A sunny day with fish and chip, went to York city centre, saw there was a food booth.Got the fish and chips.the vinegar tasted like water, like water > vinegar, bit disappointed on this. But other than that, everything was great.👍🏽

Without doubt the very best fish and chips I have ever eaten. The care and attention that the Miller family put into their fish and chips is at a standard you’d find in a Michelin Stared restaurant, the quality of the fish the precise way they cook things is mind boggling. Yorkshire is well known for the quality of Fish and Chips Millers take that high standard to a whole new level.

Since we are in York, we know we gotta try this best fish & chips in town! This place is crowded with takeaways but diners can choose to sit in (note: prices differ and VAT). The haddock and cod we had were fresh, tasty and had crispy batter. There’s generous serving of chips too. What I like best is it is non-greasy.

Millers Fish And chips...I'm lost for words. This journey starterd with me, my wife and our 7 month old baby heading to whitby. Some friends recommended magpies etc but on the way there we contacted them and found out we couldn't eat there as we are Muslim and can't have food fried in beef dripping.Turns out a lot of places in whitby don't provide this. Trenchers on the other hand said yes we can help you.. Went there and found out after asking 3 times that they don't cater for us and had that embarrassing walk of walking out without eating anything.Put off whitby for life. Then I was on a mission to find great fish and chips that I could enjoy. Emailed a few places and 2 places got back to me.. 1. Being kingfisher down south and the man there I won't name send me an email back and it just sounded like he wasn't interested in helping me or even entertaining my needs at all.I made sure I let him know I've now eaten at the number 1 in the nation and they do cater for me and my family's needs and that our quest for great fish and chips has already ended... The Douc*ebag. The second place that contacted me phoned me 3 hours before opening! And it was the owner David Miller! Which blew me away. He said he saw my email and the bad experience I had in whitby and wanted to let me know that they do cater for us.Went through every single detail about how they cook there food.Asked me to let him know when we would be coming. It's taken a few weeks but we finally got the chance to make the trip from Sheffield to York and we can see why Millers is the number one for fish and chips in the nation.David was at the door greeting customers. He asked how we were.. Amazing smile lolHe introduced both me and my wife to his wife and son Nick Miller.Sat us down and we had great seets. Wife was very happy. We weren't sure what size cod to go for so David cut some cod for us to show us what size fish they did and I thought that was amazing customer service. The food was amazing! Loved the cod! Batter was perfect and crispy. The chips the best I've ever had! It's the first time I've had fish and chips without mayo and ketchup because I felt I didn't need them. The flavour was amazing.. There was home made tarter sauce which was spot on. The mushy peas were spot on too.The Millers made sure everything was spot on for our visit and I can't thank them enough. They have Deffo made some customers for life out of me and my family as I will be bringing the rest of the gang next time we're up in York.Amazing experience both food and customer service wise. This was thee best customer service I have ever recieved in my life.I can see why they were voted number one!See you again soon and thank you once again to the Millers and the team at Millers Fish and chips!Maj
