Just finished eating in here. Not going to lie, it was awful. I thought the ham and eggs I had ordered was the child's portion, I even asked the lad that bought it out if it was right. This chicken burger was probably the worst burger I have ever tried, it was supposed to be peri peri, but it tasted nothing like it, just burned and horrible. It's a shame, the lady that served us was a delight and the pub was really nice, but I definitely think they need a new chef. Such a shame.

Reasonable sized village pub which serves food, but not on a Tuesday. Some outdoor seating to the front and has additional grassed seating area to the rear, with shaded parasols and dogs' water barrel. Car parking. Woodburners. Friendly service. Clean pub. Handpulled cask beers were Greene King Abbot and Ossett Brewery's Yorkshire Blonde.

Cosy pub 2.5 miles from york centre. Landlord exchanged week we stayed there. We stayed on campsite behind pubWalk to York goes through a nature reserve, beautiful and NO RUBBISH.

Stopped for a few drinks and sat outside. Friendly staff and was clean inside. Benches outside were in need of replacing but would be happy to go again and try the food

Having walked past we thought this would be a good wholesome village pub. Spent £19 on 2 meals. The lad delivered our food is in desperate need of some training. Dropped the plates on the table with no smile or care. As for the food we ordered chicken curry that was still cold in the middle ( microwaved) rice was boiled and popadom that was hard and not warm. The burger I had was so cheap and like it had just been put together with no skill or care. Probably the worst food we have had out in york. No smile or greeting from any staff…. But we did get to overhear ( not wanting to) all the staffs gossip about problems they are having with there website.

We go once a week just for a warm cuppa on a cold day. We try to get at least once a month for a Sunday lunch. I would definitely recommend this pub for a Sunday lunch
