Nando's - York Vangarde in York

First visit to Nando's in a while and was a little underwhelmed. The starters of haloumi and hummus were good but my half chicken was quite dry in places and my chips were slightly undercooked. It's a shame as I expected better from it.

Super impressed with the customer service here. So attentive and friendly. We ordered a whole chicken which was perfectly cooked. This is the best Nando’s we’ve been to in ages. We even received free brownies as a little treat from the manager. Can’t wait to come back.

Nando's fans, had to book on arrival and was advised 30 mins, actual wait was about 15 mins so nice surprise. No paper menus so used the QR code on the table to look at the menu and order, great idea but probably not good for everyone but you could still order at the bar. Meals arrived in good time but 2 dishes were incorrect, however the staff quickly replaced so no problem at all.

Loved the food. It took longer than usual but was warned of this so wasn't an issue. The waitress we had was amazing. She was polite and genuine. I believe her name was Erin. The only downside was a older couple next to us who complained about food..yet the waiters had food remade..then after eating ALL of the original food and the new food, demanded a refund...overall a great time. Would go back and order again. Xx

As we arrived we saw a sign that said they had a brand new team and to please be patient. They were superb! Food was brilliant, service was excellent, the place was clean and tidy and you wouldn't know they were brand new staff!

Came here after a long day of work and was welcomed by a gentleman name Sam J. He went out of his way to provide the highest quality of customer service.The food came promptly and tasted wonderful. I'll be sure to visit a lot more to endulge in good food and fantastic service.

The food was good, tasty,clean came piping hot. The staff were courteous. Although we were told waiting time 20mts got a text earlier but we're told they would hold table for only 10mts.. The unlimited coke from the machine was tasteless and watered down. One of my disabled friends cannot drink cold water and asked for hot water but that couldn't be provided as there was no kettle to make warm water which seemed strange for a big restaurant like that.We left everything and returned only to be told to take you should have taken your time and comeback as the restaurant was nearly empty this was bad as all 3 of us were disabled.The disable toilet was not functioning. Staff were friendly and helpful. The takeaway was well packed. Only no sauces or tissues were given with the takeaway which was a problem later for us. We ate in and had a takeaway.

Air conditioning was broken on a day that was 0oc and was still running so restaurant was unbelievably cold.Had 2 adult meals and a nandinos meal but only 1 adult meal and child's meal came out together and the last adult meal came 10/15 mins later after asking 2 or 3 times but the 1st meals chicken had to go back as was cold and unflavoured.Shocked how bad the experience was from a normally 5 star nandos!Staff was brilliant just food and cold was too much for other then a bad experience.

Visited today the 24th December & were delighted to see the place bubbling with guest, staff in Christmas mood & place well decorated. Kids can be kept busy with colour crayons & painting. Tried chicken grill burgers, peri peri chicken & kids meal. Delicious treat, service was fast & friendly staff.

Ordered 3 meals online, went in to pick my order up, staff crossed off the receipt and gave the a bag with all my teams meals. Got back to work and was missing two portions of chips, and half of a double burger.called to explain politely what had happened hoping i could potentially pick up the rest of the order later in the day, and they said after checking their "best member of staff checked the order and are adamant it was there".didn't even offer to replace the food, and said best they could do is "offer discount of the next order".After arguing with me they said they could check the CCTV to see what was packed, so I requested they did, then she said she was too busy so would do it later and call back.Disgusting customer service, handled the situation poorly and rudely, and robbed us of £9 worth of food. Will not be ordering from here again.
