We love Panda Mami. The food is great, the service easy and the value amazing. The variety of food is almost overwhelming and there’s a good range from all over the world. The quality is as good as your local takeaway, if not better. We love it here

Arrived at the restaurant at 9pm on Saturday night which is admittedly late but if the food was not be replenished, we should have been warned in advance rather than taking our custom. The choice of food was poor, hardly any food left and the only food that was left seem to be leftover from the earlier batch they have cooked that evening. Chicken nuggets and pizza seem to be extremely “dehydrated” almost to the point of being plastic ornaments for visual purposes. The food that was left and we did try seemed okay but it was luke -warm at best. We asked a gentleman behind the bar whether the food does get replenished to which we were advised it does - never did as I did check multiple times. We advised the staff member after we received our bill that this seemed to be unfair charging full price for half the food / poor maintenance to which we have received a 15% discount but still managed to pay surcharge on top.Overall, we left very disappointed and will not be returning back nor recommending this place to any of our friends or family on their visit to York.

Lovely setting, good choice, although glad we weren't vegetarians as limited choice for them. Also didn't really cope well for allergens. Had there been more vegetable dishes my wife would have enjoyed it more. A little disappointed with the cooking stations as I like my meat on the rare side, but they insisted on cooking everything very well done. Although we don't do desserts there was a wide choice to suit all tastes. Service was great, very friendly. I'll eat anything so I loved it!

A lovely place to go if you’re hungry! You get so much food for £20 and the chefs really do a good job of making sure all the different types are food are nice and fresh. Got to try so many types of cuisine in one place!Callum/Connor served us and did such an amazing job. He walked us around the buffet explaining all the sections and was very patient with us as we had a member of our group who was vegan. Lovely to see someone who takes their job seriously, even when it’s one hour to close!Just one thing: I wish there were more types of sushi available, but it is understandable as they make a lot of different types of food in there!Give it a try!

Fantastic! Food is fresh and delicious and the options are endless. Each dish has an allergen indicator making your selection that much easier. Friendly staff and tasteful decor with a great atmosphere. Well priced and definitely worth a visit! Highly recommended

Great variety of food for £20 per person. My favourite being Chinese/Thai (more Chinese less Thai) followed closely by the Indian section which has quite a few items allowing me to happily ping pong between Chinese and Indian during the course of proceedings. I’m not too keen on sushi but Mrs is and she doesn’t rate their sushi highly. Children like the Indian, carvery and desserts. Lots to chose from basically if you’re a picky eater. The chocolate fountain was a big hit with the children initially but the novelty has worn off gradually. Attentive staff are always quick to clear the table for the next round. A friendly waitress offered to take pictures of/for us on our first visit which was very sweet. Good restaurant to visit with family or friends. However, paying half price for our 8 and 9 year old daughters can be a bit of a hit or miss as they’re both taller than 140cm and although each time I book I leave a note but it always requires clarification at the till which quite frankly is embarrassing. We pay full price for our eldest daughter who is 14 and for us two but how can you expect an 8 or a 9 year old to pay full adult price. Like this last time we were charged more and I did not bother to contest when the staff at the till had said discounts were already applied after I enquired. This leaves a bad taste and makes me feel awkward making further enquiries and showing them how they got their math wrong. They obviously know what they’re doing. This is principally wrong and we are, therefore, now exploring other buffet options around York.City centre location means they don’t have their own parking but plenty of options nearby. We always use the Castle Car Park (location code 27701 and 77011 for Minster Badge Holders) which is a 5-7 minute walk from the restaurant. Evening parking charges of £3.60 apply from 6pm till 8am next morning but it can get very busy on weekends and especially on races (at York Race Course) which attracts thousands into York but that’s only on a handful weekends.

We went for a late lunch and had a lovely surprise with such a variety of food to choose from. Friendly and helpful staff from the start with a good environment, the Panda Mami is ideal for family and/or friends gatherings. A good Asian fusion with teppan and grill bar. We'll make sure to visit again next time we are in York.

If you're hungry then this is the place to go!! Amazing food with a wide selection of different cultures all in one place. They even have chefs there that are more then happy to make you something that may not be on the menu. First time I had calamari and I loved it 😋 Definitely needs a revisit when I revisit next year.

Definitely enjoyed the buffet here. I had mostly sushi and scallops from the grill while my partner had all different types of meat. This place serves a wide range of Asian cuisine and lots of desserts with chocolate fondue. Would come back again when we are in York. Worth the money!

We booked a table and was seated quickly. It's a large restaurant but definitely one of the better buffets I have tried. There was lots of choice and the food was fresh and hot with a large choice of desserts. The staff were friendly helpful and there was always someone around for assistance.
